Today I want to share with you all the upcoming lightning calvary attack immortal, Louis IX.

Introduction

Louis IX can be obtained from the KvK chest or a special bundle of “immortal glory”, similar to other KvK immortals. This immortal will only be available from Conquest 1 onwards.

Louis IX’s skill: Howling Thunder

Howling Thunder is a stronger version of Heavenly Thunder, found in ToK. Howling Thunder replaces Louis IX’s physical attack with a magical attack for 9s. Let's talk about the good points of this effect many may miss. As we all know, you can’t miss magic attacks, so during those 9seconds, Louis IX is guaranteed to land about 4 normal attacks assuming no crowd control landed on him. So at best he can land a total of 200% magical damage on 3 enemies, for a total of 4 times, = 800% magical damage on 3 enemies over 9 seconds. 

It even has an additional effect of increasing the magical damage those receive by 20% for 3second, and with cavalry immortal's attack speed of 2s per normal attack, the highest stack possible will be 40% increased magical damage taken.

Best immortal to pair with Margaret: Hammurabi

Hammurabi is the best backline immortal I would pick to pair with Louis IX, as Hammurabi’s ultimate skill The Final Judgement scales off the magic attack.

If it is cast while the enemy is under the debuff of receiving 40% increased magic damage taken, Hammurabi will have a scaling of 350%*1.15*1.40=563.5% magical damage.

Core skills for Louis IX

Louis IX doesn’t play the role of DPS despite what his ability suggests, hence I would give him all the support skills the lightning march needs to perform well. Rage blessing is a good counter to energy suppression and also enables lightning march to cast their skill together with the dragon's 2nd skill for a huge burst.

Energy suppression will prevent the opponent immortal from casting their ultimate skill before the lightning march bursts at 10~11second into the battlefield.

Misleading will reduce the accuracy rate of the enemy team, hence lowering the chance of the lightning march taking damage. As the main opponent for the lightning march will be holy and earth, this aura will be the best for countering those physically heavy teams.

Conclusion

Louis IX is a new introduction that will further buff up Hammurabi’s ultimate skill damage. He will cost around 400 USD max from special bundles excluding the KvK chest.
