Sometimes, raw strength wins - Siege of Winterfell Season 18 Round 6 - [N0X] vs [OBV]

As August is getting closer and closer to its end, so does the Siege of Winterfell Season 18, now heading towards the 6th round. The season started great for [N0X] with a win against [NoS] but then they suffered a crushing defeat against [NBe] followed by 3 consecutive wins against [PLQ], [CRY] and [TLT] so a win on the 6th round is quite mandatory if they want to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since they've been added to the Siege of Winterfell. In the 2 days after the [TLT] match the leadership carefully strategized everything they could about the 6th round, especially since they noticed that based on the current rankings, they'll meet a quite strong alliance. Once the strategy was made and announced to the other alliance members, it was time for Scythe to register the alliance, and everyone waited on their toes for the matchmaking to be done at midnight.

Nobody was surprised once the matchmaking was done and the opponent announced, as based on the rankings, [OBV] was the closest to [N0X] in ranking points and the most obvious opponent. [N0X] and [OBV] fought each other quite a few times in the past both on Alliance Conquest and Siege of Winterfell and most of the fights ended up with [N0X] losing beside the last season of Alliance Conquest when [N0X] managed to win 2 times in both regular season and Ultimate Conquest so [OBV] will be out for blood for sure. Being the last round, [N0X] lost Menat's help too, since he had to go back to his alliance. Despite that, with a high morale after the win against [TLT], everyone in [N0X] took their most trusted commanders, their best troops and dragons and headed towards the Siege of Winterfell battlefield. They arrived there just in time, cause right away the battlefield doors opened and they started stepping inside and deploy their camps in the frozen north and prepared for battle.

With just a few seconds before the fighting began, the attendance numbers weren't looking too good for [N0X] as they were 13 less warriors than [OBV], so beside having the score and power advantage, [OBV] was having numbers advantage too now. As soon as the battle started, everyone rushed to their assigned buildings with your favorite duo Shado and LadyKnight being assigned to the Hot Springs, so they headed there as quickly as possible to see how hot the springs actually are. The cavalry warriors are always the first on scene, but it didn't take long for everyone on both sides to arrive there and start fighting.

There were so many warriors on both sides, each controlling millions of troops and when they started clashing, the earth under their feet started trembling from the so many soldiers stepping on it at once. The valyrian steel clashing could be heard from very far away and after just a few minutes of fighting the hot springs were now red springs from all the blood spilled on the battlefield and you could smell the death in the air.

Despite fighting at a very serious number disadvantage on the Hot Spring's side, [N0X] warriors were determined to hold their ground and maybe manage to push back [OBV] or at least hold as many of their forces there so the other side, the Armory side would manage to do better as they weren't at such number disadvantage there. The troops kept clashing, warriors were losing all their soldiers just to go back to their castle, put their medics to work and as soon as troops were healed, they were rejoining the fights. [N0X] was managing to put a decent fight on both sides and holding their ground for now but with the number advantage on their side along with the raw power [OBV] was managing to push them out slowly from both Armory and Hot Springs.

While not being able to hold more bases than [OBV], [N0X] decided to focus on the dragons as it was their last chance at turning the tides in this battle.

The decision was a good one, they left some forces to hold back [OBV] at the strongholds while the other warriors went for the dragons instead and for a while it went great, with [N0X] managing to secure quite a few dragons after very bloody fights though. It didn't take long for [OBV] to notice what [N0X] were doing, and they also displaced a larger force on the dragons. The fights for every dragon were very intense and [N0X] gave their heart and soul on the battlefield but ultimately it wasn't enough to defeat [OBV] and they had to admit defeat unfortunately.

It was quite a crushing defeat for [N0X], both alliances gave their everything on the battlefield and the raw strength difference between the alliances along with the extra 13 warriors for [OBV] ultimately tipped the scales in their favor. Unfortunately for [N0X] that meant another Siege of Winterfell season without qualifying to the playoffs. But with each season they do better and better so maybe the next season will be the one.
