You all know by now that Infinity Kingdom has brought some major changes with the newest patch. I was actually waiting for the update to arrive before writing about it because the patch notes themselves didn't really explain much. I wanted to see everything in-game first before giving my opinion.
So now the update is here, here's my take on it.
⚜️Immortal Skins
So what's actually new?
Infinity Kingdom is introducing Immortal Skins that don't just change how your immortal looks, but also change their ultimate skill.
When the patch notes first came out, I honestly thought this was going to be purely cosmetic. For example, Bjorn's Withering Realm might have different visual effects or animations. But then I thought... you barely even see ultimates since battles happen instantly unless you're watching a replay.
That's why I wanted to wait and see what they actually meant.
So what does it change?
First you have to unlock the skin and upgrade it just like you would a normal immortal. I'm not 100% sure how many fragments it will take, but my guess is it will follow the same progression as upgrading a normal immortal.
My prediction is:
Epic Skin
Unlock: 60 fragments
⭐0 ➜ ⭐1: 30
⭐1 ➜ ⭐2: 60
⭐2 ➜ ⭐3: 90
⭐3 ➜ ⭐4: 120
⭐4 ➜ ⭐5: 150
⭐5 ➜ ⭐6: 180
⭐6 ➜ ⭐7: 210

Chaos Skin
Unlock: 80 fragments
⭐0 ➜ ⭐1: 50
⭐1 ➜ ⭐2: 100
⭐2 ➜ ⭐3: 150
⭐3 ➜ ⭐4: 200
⭐4 ➜ ⭐5: 250
⭐5 ➜ ⭐6: 300
⭐6 ➜ ⭐7: 350

This is only my speculation for now since we still don't know where these fragments will come from. My guess is they will eventually be added to a future seasonal event or Grail Shop.
At the moment we only have skins for Alexander the Great and Athena.
What makes them interesting is that they also change the rarity of their skills.
🔹Alexander goes from Epic ➜ Legendary
🔹Athena goes from Legendary ➜ Mythic
⚜️Alexander's Skin Explained
I've already seen a lot of people misunderstand Alexander.
Questions like:
🔹Is Alexander now like Ares?
🔹Does his active skill stay passive?
This is where people get it wrong.
Normal Alexander

Passive
🔹 Increase Normal Attack Damage by 50%.
Active
🔹 Increase Damage Dealt by 50%.
🔹 Increase Attack Speed by 50%.
🔹 Gain Control Immunity for 6 seconds.
Alexander with Exclusive Artifact

Once you equip his Exclusive Artifact, Eternal Conquest no longer requires Energy.
Instead, the skill becomes permanently active.
However, there is one drawback.
❌ Damage Dealt: 50% ➜ 35%
❌ Attack Speed: 50% ➜ 35%
In return you gain:
✅ Permanent Damage Dealt.
✅ Permanent Attack Speed.
✅ Permanent Control Immunity.
✅ No Energy required.
This is the part many people misunderstand.
Alexander with Summer Passion

Without the Exclusive Artifact, almost nothing changes.
The only difference is:
🔹 Control Immunity increases from 6 seconds ➜ 9 seconds.
Now look at the last sentence.
When a Unique Artifact is equipped, the Damage Dealt and Attack Speed limitations no longer apply.
This doesn't mean Alexander starts gaining Energy again.
It doesn't mean his active works differently.
He still:
✅ Doesn't gain Energy.
✅ Doesn't cast his ultimate.
✅ Keeps permanent Control Immunity.
The only thing that changes is:
The 35% CAP is completely removed. 🚨
Instead of:
❌ Damage Dealt 35%
❌ Attack Speed 35%
You now get:
✅ Damage Dealt 50%
✅ Attack Speed 50%
While keeping every Exclusive Artifact benefit.
So no, Alexander doesn't suddenly work like Ares.
The skin simply removes the biggest downside of his Exclusive Artifact.
⚜️Athena's Skin Explained

Athena also received some interesting changes.
We all remember that her previous rework removed her 200 Initial Energy passive and replaced it with Serious Wound Immunity for the whole team.
Now with her new skin, Energy comes back... but in a different way.
Instead of Initial Energy, she now gains:
🔹 40% Energy Recovery Speed.
At first this might look weaker.
Personally, I don't think it is.
Instead of getting one very fast first ultimate, she now keeps generating Energy faster throughout the fight.
I actually discussed this with fellow PO Tan, also known as OPPA, because we noticed many people were only looking at Athena's first cast and not what happens for the rest of the fight.
Think of it like giving a turtle a head start against a rabbit.
The turtle starts first.
But once the rabbit catches up, it keeps moving ahead.
That's basically the difference between Initial Energy and Energy Recovery Speed.
Her active also changes slightly.
Pros
✅ Recovery Speed: 80% ➜ 100%
✅ Faster ultimate rotation.
Cons
❌ Damage Reduction: 40% ➜ 30%
Personally I think it's a fair trade.
⚜️Decoration Shop

The patch also introduces the new Decoration Shop.
Here you can finally buy previous castle skins, chat boxes, teleports nameplates and emoji if you missed them during earlier events.
Personally, I like this addition.
If you're someone who likes collecting cosmetics, this is finally your chance to grab older items you may have missed.
⚜️Master Insight Books

Another small thing many people probably overlooked is that Master Insight Books have finally been added to the Daily Shop.
Previously you mainly got them from Elite Challenges to level your Immortal Specializations.
Now you can also buy them directly from the Daily Shop, which should make upgrading your specializations a little less painful.
⚜️My Take
Overall, I actually like this update.
The Decoration Shop gives collectors another chance to obtain older cosmetics.
The Daily Shop change makes specialization progression easier.
But the biggest part of the update is definitely the new Immortal Skins.
Alexander's skin removes the biggest downside of his Exclusive Artifact.
Athena's skin changes how she cycles her ultimate.
Now I'm mostly curious where these skins will come from, because that will decide whether they're something everyone can work towards or mainly something for heavy spenders.
