💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? Welcome to this month’s edition of Winners and Losers for Patch 2.9.7. Patch 2.9.7 was released on Thursday, July 9. The patch introduced a new Immortal Outfit system that changes ultimate effects, a new decoration shop, and several optimizations. In this article, we’ll discuss the most important updates, who will benefit, and who will suffer.

💠Immortal Outfit System
The new Immortal Outfit system debuts with Summer Passion outfits for Alexander and Athena, though the Festival Event needed to earn their Outfit Fragments has not opened yet. Once players collect enough fragments, the outfit is permanently unlocked for that Immortal, remains available after Rebirth, activates a matching Outfit Insignia, and modifies the Immortal’s Ultimate Skill rather than serving as a purely cosmetic change. Alexander’s outfit removes his existing damage cap and grants an additional 15% damage and 15% attack speed, giving him a much higher offensive ceiling. Athena’s outfit is more of a tradeoff: her damage reduction decreases from 40% to 30%, but her recovery rate effect increases by 20% and her personal energy recovery speed rises by 40%, allowing her to cast her Ultimate more frequently and provide stronger sustained support. Whether getting the outfits will be available for free remains to be seen. If so, low-spenders and free-to-play players will benefit largely from Alexander’s buff.
Winners: Alexander and Athena
Losers: To be determined

💠Decoration Shop
The new Decoration Shop unlocks at Lord Level 6 and can be accessed through the castle skin decoration interface. Players can spend Decoration Coins on exclusive Collection Outfits, including Territory Skins for 3,500 coins, Teleport Effects for 2,300, Avatar Frames and Territory Emojis for 300, Chat Message Boxes for 200, and Territory Nameplates for 100. Players can purchase 100 Decoration Coins once per day through a $0.99 Rare Treasures pack. This gives players a cheap way to own Teleport Effects and Territory Skins.
Winners: Everyone
Losers: N/A

💠Optimizations
Most of these changes are quality-of-life optimizations that provide clearer battle information and easier access to features. Battle of Asteria received difficulty and Boss HP adjustments, the Ruins button was moved near Mail, Legion of Frostborne logs now show registration and cancellation records, and battle reports for Arena, Open Arena, and Throne of the Supreme now display each Immortal’s HP more accurately at the start of every round.
Winners: Everyone
Losers: N/A

💠Summary
Patch 2.9.7 is a small update focused mostly on quality-of-life improvements and the new Decoration Shop. The Immortal Outfit system provides major buffs to Alexander and Athena, but it is not the kind of new content many players wanted. Unless the outfits are easily obtainable for free, the feature feels like another monetization system.
