When Rune Factory was first announced, a lot of players were skeptical, and honestly, I would have had the same reaction too. Since this was the event replacing Sparks of Galaxy, people immediately started checking the shop, looking at the rewards, and asking themselves if this was really supposed to be a good replacement. At first, it did not leave the greatest impression. Later on, the event got changed, and it looked better than before. But that still leaves the real question: is Rune Factory actually better, or does it just look better than the first version?

And that is where things start getting a bit tricky.

Because if your main focus is building Chaos immortals, then Rune Factory is honestly not that bad anymore. After the changes, it became a much more real option for Chaos progression, and that part is easier to justify now. But if you are looking at it from the side of Holy and Shadow growth, and the extra side rewards people used to get from Sparks of Galaxy, then the answer is not that simple. Sparks had a very different feel to it. It was one of the main events people connected with Holy and Shadow fragments, artifact schematic, and dragon crystals/essence. Rune Factory does not really feel like that. It feels much more focused on Chaos immortals instead.

⚜️ So what does Rune Factory actually do better?

The easiest answer is Chaos immortals.

Rune Factory gives you Rune Insignia, and that Rune can be turned into Inferno Insignia. From there, Inferno is what you use for Chaos immortal fragments and Chaos artifacts. So if your goal is building a Chaos team, this event finally gives you another way to work on Chaos immortals.

That is also why I think the event feels a bit split depending on what kind of player you are. If your account is aiming toward Chaos immortals, Rune Factory finally gives you another way to work on them outside of things like Peak Battle Pass or Chaos Roulette. But if your account is more focused on Holy and Shadow immortals, then Rune Factory does not really replace Sparks of Galaxy in the same way. It replaces the event, yes, but not the feeling of what that event used to give.

⚜️ Let’s do the Chaos math slowly

From the Rune Shop:

🔹 70 Rune = 280 Inferno

🔹 70 ÷ 280 = 0.25 Rune per Inferno

🔹 800 Inferno × 0.25 = 200 Rune

So that means:

🔹 80 Chaos fragments = 200 Rune

If you want to go one step further:

🔹 200 ÷ 80 = 2.5 Rune per fragment

So if your goal is building Chaos immortals, Rune Factory is at least fair there. The value you get from Rune conversion and the Peak Battle Pass shop is basically the same.

⚜️ So where does it start feeling worse?

For me, it starts when you stop looking at Chaos immortals and start looking at everything else.

For example, yes, Rune Factory gives things like:

🔹 100 Holy/Shadow crystals for 20 Rune

🔹 5 Dragon Essence for 40 Rune

But that still does not mean the event feels better for Holy, Shadow, or dragon growth than Sparks of Galaxy did. The shop still has Holy/Shadow crystals and Dragon Essence, and you can also use Inferno in the Legendary Battlepass shop to buy Holy/Shadow fragments or artifacts. The difference is just that Sparks of Galaxy felt more centered around that kind of progress, while Rune Factory feels more centered around Chaos immortals.

⚜️ And this is where I think people can get baited

Because if you only look at one item in the Rune Shop, it is easy to say, “oh, this looks fine.” And yes, some of it does look fine. But that still does not tell the full story.

For example, Rune Factory gives:

🔹 100 Holy/Shadow crystals for 20 Rune

🔹 5 Dragon Essence for 40 Rune

And those are not bad rewards by themselves.

The issue is that Sparks of Galaxy used to feel better as a whole package. You were not just looking at one item but the whole event felt better for players who cared about Holy and Shadow immortals, dragon growth, and more mixed side rewards.

That is why Rune Factory feels a bit split to me.

🔹 If you care about Chaos immortals, the event is perfect.

🔹 If you care more about Holy and Shadow immortals, the event still helps, but it does not feel built around you.

🔹 And if you liked Sparks of Galaxy because it covered more things at once, then Rune Factory can definitely feel like a downgrade.

⚜️ So are the side rewards actually worth it?

This is where I think people need to be careful.

Because yes, Rune Factory still gives access to Holy, Shadow, and dragon-related resources. But that does not automatically make it the best place to get them.

🔹 Holy / Shadow crystals

Rune Factory is not the only place giving Holy and Shadow progress.

From the daily shop, you can buy 20 Mystery Pearls for 5,99.

And with 15 Pearls, you can buy 50 Holy/Shadow crystals.

So yes, Rune Factory gives Holy/Shadow crystals too, but it is not like this event suddenly became the only or best way to get them.

🔹 Dragon Essence

Same story here.

In Time Rift Breaker, you can use Space-Time Glory Badges to buy 5 Dragon Essence for 50,000 badges.

If you actively play Time Rift Spider, you can get Dragon Essence without spending a dime. So again, Rune Factory is not the only place giving dragon-related progress.

🔹 So what is the point then?

The point is not that Rune Factory gives nothing.

The point is that you can already get those resources from other places too. That is why I would not judge Rune Factory by those items alone. They are useful, yes, but they do not feel like the main reason to do the event.

⚜️ So what do I think?

I think Rune Factory is better than people first thought, but that still does not automatically make it a better replacement for Sparks of Galaxy.

If your focus is Chaos immortals, then Rune Factory is honestly fine. The value there is fair, the path is clear, and it finally gives another real way to work on Chaos immortal progress.

But if your focus is more on Holy and Shadow immortals, dragon growth, and that more mixed type of progress, then I still think Sparks of Galaxy felt better.

So for me, Rune Factory is not a bad event.

It is just a better event for Chaos players than it is for everyone else.
