Patch 2.9.4 is not here to impress. There’s no new Immortal, no major system overhaul, nothing that immediately changes how fights are played. Instead, it focuses on small adjustments: better visibility on resources, a new Legendary skill, and a targeted balance change. On paper, it’s light. In practice, a few of these changes will show up more often than expected in your day-to-day play.

Introduction: A Maintenance Patch with Signals
This patch sits in that category of updates that are easy to overlook. Nothing jumps out, nothing feels urgent, and yet it touches several parts of the game that players interact with constantly. Resource tracking, skill acquisition, and a small balance tweak. No single change carries the patch, but together they clean up how the game flows. These are not the updates that create hype, but they often age better than the bigger ones.

Maël’s Opinion: This is a maintenance patch done properly. You won’t feel it immediately, but you’ll notice the difference after a few sessions.
Resource Tracking: Small Feature, Daily Impact
The new inventory tracking for speedups looks like a minor addition, but it fixes something that was unnecessarily unclear. Until now, managing resources meant either guessing or checking multiple places. With this update, you get a clearer view of what you actually have, which makes planning upgrades and events much more straightforward.

It doesn’t make you progress faster, but it removes friction from how you manage that progression. And that’s the kind of change you end up using every day without thinking about it.
Maël’s Opinion: Not exciting, but useful. This is the kind of feature you stop noticing because it just works.
Disclaimer: The above visual is a speculative representation based on the current interface and is not confirmed nor reflect what will be released for the patch.
Arcane Hunter: A Different Kind of Legendary Skill
Arcane Hunter is the standout addition of this patch, not because it introduces something flashy, but because of how well it combines two roles that are usually separated. It brings both consistent damage and meaningful defensive value into a single skill, which immediately gives it more flexibility than most Legendary options.

On one side, you have steady AoE physical damage that keeps applying pressure across the entire enemy team. On the other, you gain a permanent layer of magical damage reduction, which directly improves your survivability against a large portion of the current meta. These two components are not competing with each other, they reinforce each other. You deal damage while taking less of it, which naturally shifts the tempo of the fight in your favor.
What makes the skill even more interesting is how it scales under Light Blessing. The added crit rate introduces a burst dimension on top of its stable foundation. It’s not just a passive layer of damage anymore, it becomes something that can spike at the right moments and convert pressure into real impact.
This is where Arcane Hunter stands out. It’s not built around one strong effect, but around the balance between offense and defense. That balance makes it easy to slot into different compositions without forcing a full rebuild.

Maël’s Opinion: This is a strong skill. The combination of damage and mitigation makes it easy to justify in most builds, especially in longer fights.
Zuma & UI Tweaks: Minor but Useful
Zuma Tower now shows how many rewards you’ve already claimed. It’s a small change. You open the interface, you see where you are, and you move on. It doesn’t change how the event works, just how clearly you interact with it.

Maël’s Opinion: Small quality-of-life change, but these are the ones that add up over time.
Tutorial & Systems — Smoother Early Game
The addition of dragon hatching missions to the tutorial is clearly aimed at newer players. It helps structure early progression and makes core systems easier to understand from the start.
For established players, this won’t change anything. But for the game itself, it matters. Better onboarding usually means better retention.
Maël’s Opinion: Not relevant for you, but important for the game. These changes don’t show up in your account, but they show up in player retention.
Athena Adjustment: Quiet but Meaningful
Athena’s change replaces her initial energy boost with immunity to Seriously Wound effects for all allies. That shifts her role slightly. Instead of helping your team start faster, she now protects against a specific type of pressure.
It’s less immediate, but potentially more impactful in the right matchups. The value depends entirely on what you’re facing.
Maël’s Opinion: More situational, less universal. This won’t redefine her, but it gives her a clearer defensive identity.
Conclusion: Not Big, Still Relevant
Patch 2.9.4 is not trying to change the game. It improves visibility, adds one new tool, and adjusts a specific Immortal. Nothing here will shift the meta overnight, but it makes the game slightly cleaner and easier to manage.
These are not the updates people talk about. They’re the ones that stay.
Maël’s Opinion: Nothing flashy, nothing broken. Just a patch that makes the game a bit smoother, which is sometimes exactly what it needs.
