💠Introduction

What’s up, folks? Welcome back to my Illusion Battlefield League(IBL) series, where I take a closer look at different matches. The IBL tournament differs from regular IB in that everyone will construct marches and skill builds using a fixed set of skills. At different stages of the tournament, more immortals and skills will become available. Everyone has access to the same immortals and the same skills. Castle skins and Lord Talents do not affect the more fast-paced battles of IBL. Relocations and marching speed are also faster. The event is one of the most entertaining events in Infinity Kingdom, and players enjoy spectating, almost like a sporting event. In this article, I’m going to take a closer look at the match between Server 73’s Snugglebunnies(BUNS) and Server 136’s Along With The Gods(AWG).

💠Overview

BUNS and AWG meet in Group 8 after very similar first phases. BUNS finished 4–1, with their only loss coming to HMB, and narrowly secured a playoff berth. Attendance has been their biggest hurdle, as many core players are currently with ARC for KvK, limiting them to roughly 20–25 players per match. AWG went 5–1 with a loss to ARC, but they have shown inconsistency both in execution and attendance, sometimes filling out their roster and other weeks struggling to reach 25 players. Despite the roster limitations, BUNS’ experience and pedigree give them the edge heading into this matchup.

💠Starting Positions and Talents

BUNS

  • Started with 17 players and ended with 23
  • 12 Attack talents
  • 2 Defense talents
  • 3 Support talents

AWG

  • Started with 15 players and ended with 22
  • 11 Attack talents
  • 3 Defense talents
  • 1 Support talent

💠Tower 1

At Tower 1, BUNS committed eight players while AWG chose to concede the objective entirely. Given both teams’ limited attendance, AWG’s decision is strategically sound, as contesting only two objectives is optimal in low-player matches, especially since AWG holds the positional advantage at Tower 4 as the top-sided team. Once it became clear the tower was uncontested, at least four BUNS players should have canceled their relocations and rotated toward the Central Tower after cooldown refresh to maximize map control.

💠Tower 4

At Tower 4, BUNS sent only two players while AWG committed seven. BUNS intended to concede the objective, mirroring AWG’s decision at Tower 1, but two members failed to follow instructions and went anyway. Against a 7-player commitment, those two would inevitably be zeroed and waste valuable time and cooldowns. As the bottom-sided team with a positional disadvantage at Tower 4, conceding the objective was the correct strategic call for BUNS.

💠Central Tower

At the Central Tower, BUNS committed seven players while AWG sent only four. BUNS spread their formation across the west and south sides of the objective, giving them broader territorial control. AWG clustered on the north side, which limited their flexibility and made them easier to pressure. A better approach for AWG would have been to position closer to the top right corner, increasing the travel time for incoming attacks and buying time for reinforcements to arrive.

💠Altars

Neither team sent anyone to either altar.

💠Home Towers

Both teams had one guard defending their respective home tower.

💠Play-by-Play

All eight BUNS players completed their relocations and none canceled despite facing no opposition. They quickly sieged and captured Tower 1 uncontested just a few minutes into the match. Once the tower was secured, several BUNS members began rotating toward the Central Tower to reinforce their early advantage.

A few AWG players were late relocating to Tower 4, and once it became clear that BUNS had conceded the objective, some of them should have canceled and redirected to the Central Tower instead of overcommitting. Instead, all of AWG completed their relocations and secured the tower uncontested within the first few minutes. The two BUNS players were quickly overwhelmed, bombarded with coordinated attacks, and sent back to spawn in under five minutes. After stabilizing the area, all but two AWG players began rotating toward the Central Tower to reinforce the main fight.

The fight at the Central Tower started poorly for AWG when one of their late arrivals relocated too close to BUNS and was immediately destroyed. BUNS applied constant pressure, spreading attacks across four targets to chip everyone down simultaneously, which was effective given AWG’s limited presence, although more coordinated rallies would have secured kills even faster. BUNS zeroed two players early and then advanced to take space around the tower as AWG attempted reinforcements from spawn and Tower 4. Several of AWG’s relocations were poorly placed and clustered together, allowing BUNS to block multiple with a single move. After eliminating the remaining three enemies near the objective, BUNS fully surrounded the tower and captured their third objective 12 minutes into the match.

Ten minutes into the match, AWG launched an invasion on BUNS’ home tower, relocating two players into an area defended by two guards. BUNS destroyed one relocation, but another AWG player teleported directly next to the tower and two more crept closer to apply pressure. BUNS immediately began rotating reinforcements from Tower 1 and the Central Tower. AWG zeroed one defender and then the second, while successfully blocking several incoming BUNS relocations. However, AWG missed a critical opportunity to destroy a key relocation coming from BUNS’ spawn; had they eliminated it, they likely would have secured the tower. Instead, BUNS zeroed one of the three invaders, and as their reinforcements steadily arrived while AWG had no follow-up support, BUNS overwhelmed the attackers and shut down the invasion completely.

Halfway into the match, AWG made a critical rotation error at Tower 4, pulling all but one defender toward the Central Tower. A replacement was moving from spawn, but before he could arrive, BUNS recognized the opening. They quickly relocated and teleported two players directly onto the objective and began the siege. Because the lone AWG defender was not positioned next to the tower, there was no meaningful resistance, and BUNS captured it with ease. One AWG member teleported in to assist, but he was immediately overwhelmed and zeroed. With four towers under their control, BUNS effectively shut the door on any realistic comeback attempt.

💠Summary

MVP of the match was BUNS’ Unknown as BUNS secured a dominant 100,000 to 44,100 victory over AWG. While AWG’s overall game plan was structurally sound, their execution was among their weakest this season. Both teams should have canceled early relocations to reinforce the only truly contested objective, the Central Tower. AWG’s attempt to pressure BUNS’ home tower was strategically smart and successfully pulled defenders away, but the rest of the team failed to capitalize on the distraction. Both sides relied too heavily on solo attacks and needed to incorporate more rallies for faster eliminations. AWG’s mid-game rotation off Tower 4 was poor, but by that stage they were already significantly behind and needed to create earlier momentum in the center. BUNS advance to face DN, while AWG drop to the silver bracket where they will await ITYG.
