"No Permission, Only Purpose" [Part 12] Leonida's Quest - An Infinity Kingdom Story

🔷 Introduction

Welcome to part 12 of Leonidas' quest. We will be following the story of how he became one of the most formidable leaders in history and all of the trials and challenges he faced in his lifetime to get to the pinnacle of life. It started when he was a young boy and had some incredible moments in his life, which led him to be the incredible leader he is today.

🔷 Summary of Part 11: "The Rise of the Divine Empire"

With the goblin threat vanquished and Ninetails beside him, King Leonidas transforms Sparta from a city of warriors into a kingdom of destiny. Reborn with divine purpose, Sparta rises to lead, not just survive—its march toward a new world order has only just begun.

🔷 Part 12: "No Permission, Only Purpose"

After Sparta rose from its ruin, Leonidas stepped down from his throne. He trained beside farmers, blacksmiths, and young men who once only dreamed of battle. No ceremony. No guards. Just the dust, the heat, and the weight of what lay ahead.

He didn’t speak much during drills. A nod here, a quiet correction there. But when he moved, every warrior watched. His strikes were clean. Precise. Like he wasn’t just fighting — like he remembered what it meant to survive.

One morning, as the sun bled into the horizon, Ninetails appeared on the ridge. She didn’t join the drills. She stood quietly, arms crossed, gaze sharp. People said she could read a battlefield before it even began. Leonidas never asked why she watched. He already knew.

The weeks passed quickly. Blood and blisters marked their progress better than words. Around the training fields, children began mimicking footwork with sticks. Vendors started arriving earlier. Even the old men, bitter from the war, nodded when Leonidas passed.

Then, on a humid afternoon, a scout galloped in on a foam-covered horse. His face was pale, lips cracked. He didn’t dismount. Just shouted.

“They’re coming from the south. No banners. No demands. Just... taking everything.”

The war council gathered before nightfall. The map on the stone table was stained with sweat and red ink. As the scout described towns swallowed overnight, the silence in the room grew heavier.

Leonidas rested both hands on the table. "We ride tonight. Hit them before they push deeper."

A murmur followed. One of the elders leaned forward, eyes cautious. "We only just rebuilt. If we strike too early, we might lose everything."

"And if we wait?" Leonidas didn’t raise his voice. "How many villages vanish before we act?"

The High Priestess stood, her expression unreadable. "We don't doubt your courage. But Sparta needs strategy, not sacrifice."

He looked at them. Not angry. Just disappointed. "Strategy doesn’t mean standing still."

They voted against him.

By midnight, Leonidas was outside the city walls, armor half-fastened, horse already saddled. Ninetails was waiting, adjusting her gauntlets with calm precision. One by one, soldiers began to arrive — not by order, but by choice.

Seventy warriors. That’s all. But each one had bled for Sparta. Each one had buried something during the last war they swore wouldn’t happen again.

No flags. No speeches. Just nods, shared looks, and the sound of leather tightening over shoulders.

Leonidas mounted his horse, scanning the faces around him. "This isn’t for Sparta’s name. It’s for its soul. We don’t wait for war to knock. We ride to meet it."

And they did. Without blessing. Without certainty.

Only purpose.
