After the last few CCS-matches had not been very successful for Hotep, either barely getting his elimination rewards or not getting them at all. So it was clear for him things had to change. Since he had a new home kingdom and so would be without the big whales, he was hopeful to get a more competitive map. In addition, he bulked up, building close to 15 million troops, mainly t3 he could kill off in the CCS.

When on the day of battle, the new infantry commander Jaqen was released, a new dimension to the battle opened. Now this would not only be a CCS, but also a testing ground for the new commander, assuming someone on his map got him. Knowing his map, though, Hotep was sure at least Candy would get him.

Looking at the map half an hour before the star, Hotep could already see that two groups had formed, one led by Candy and other RoD rally leads, and the other group led by NBe whales surrounding iLLidan and DeGeNeRaTe. Knowing that Candy would probably go for the center, especially because he had the larger group, Hotep joined NBe instead, hoping to make more elims of offensive rallies than if he had to send troops into the city for an hour.

When the match started there were not many other actors besides those 2 factions, just a few solo people 4 players from NWB and a TQL group.

DeGeNeRaTe would get first capture, and so Hotep and his allies rushed to get in. While Degenerate was infantry, Hotep still sent him full t3 cav, as he had a lot of them to lose, and they were prob stronger than t1 inf, especially vs inf solos from Candy.

And Candy would solo, and he did so quickly, trying to catch the building before it filled, and although they were fast enough to send in, Candy still got away with a win, probably due to the account difference and weak troops in the Hall at that time.

Then RoD started their rallies, and as expected, there was not much to win on defense. The army size difference was just too big, let alone counter and other stuff potentially coming into play.

To get an idea of what the defense looked like, here a report of a rally Degenerate won.

NBe was defending with a lot of t1s, especially after RoD won their first 1-2 rallies, kicking out the high-tier troops. Degenerate’s strong inf lineup, only missing the newest addition in the form of Jaqen and some stars on Vorian weapon, was still able to deal good damage to weaker leads, even with t1s.

In their first rally wave, RoD was finally able to find enough winning rallies to take the Hall.

Time to test the new commander! iLLidan and DeGeNeRaTe opened rallies, and Hotep joined, although fearing the results they had to try. The rallies were marching, and Hotep was worried. iLLidan would hit first, followed by Degenerate a few seconds later and in that second rally Hotep was himself. And then the rally hit…

…and they got a report!

Although expensive, Degenerate was able to win against Candy, who was running the new maxed inf lineup. Besides procing additional normal attacks, Jaqen annihilated 8% of the enemy line every few normal attacks. With all the additional attack procs such a hit was about every 1-2 seconds, dealing massive damage

The next 20 min were then those 2 rally leads rallying Candy, sometimes more, sometimes less expensive. Hotep made sure to join as many as possible, and so he climbed into the top elimination rankings, going far beyond what he needed to do, but he really could use some more tokens.

After that, RoD tried to swap a different lead in, but NBe was quick to set up rallies and kicked them out, leading to a back and fourth with smaller NBe and RoD leads getting rallied and kicked.

One of RoDs leads was I AM FOOD with a maxed female lineup, but with both spear and inf being stronger in the meta at the moment, it was not hard to kick them out, even with spear accounts far from maxed like BEELTEBUTH.

After a lot of back and forth, lasting 15 minutes of contrast captures, recaptures, counter rallies and reinforcements Degenerate was finally successful to get a good amount of reinforcements in quickly. Various RoD players tried to solo, but all failed, including e V o who prob not expect to see a full castle when he hit as he had no chance vs counter.

Degenerate would get kicked out again, but he had gotten enough time for the top 3, and he made sure that the last swap attempt of RoD would fail to prevent the fourth place to go past him.

In the end, the CCS was a partial success for NBe as they had gotten rank 3 with the smaller faction and weaker leads, but calling it a full success would not be right either.

The new commander proved to make rallying, even with a lot more troops, very expensive, at least in CCS. Although it was still not entirely clear how much it would change in practice, there was clearly a big increase in damage from Candy and his lineup.

Hotep himself ended up making it to rank 25 with 15mil tokens, allowing him to fully buy all the tokens in the shop. He had lost 200mil power in the battle and more than 10 mil troops, but he had built them to lose them and convert them into CCS badges, so it was all worth it for him. May his next CCS bring him similar success so he could get red CCS badges…
