Season 60 - Siege of Scarlet Palace

The April storms are raging, blowing harder than ever. It is a cloudy day. And in the middle of the night, the owls were the only ones awake, as the rest of the world was supposed to be sleeping. However, just like every month, the event everyone was waiting for, was upon us again: City Champion Siege.

Not everyone was sleeping though on kingdom 157, a few had stayed awake. As it was the first siege matching and they were up. In the heart of this Siege for the Scarlet Palace was Loliedd. 

It wasn’t just another fight, like they had so many. No no, this time, Loliedd was going for the crown. He had never won a crown before. The prospect of getting it for the first time ever, got him on cloud 9. The crown has eluded him for so many seasons, and it has always been a dream of his to get it. Will he get it this time? Or will it slip through his fingers once more?

Next to him, was his waifu Heaven, who always supported him through thick and thin. LoliEdd would describe Heaven as his rock, his ride or die, always so reliable and loyal. Heaven stood there quietly next to him. She has her eyes on the 3rd spot. As Heaven has never ever even gotten one before, she’s already thinking of it, Both Loliedd and Heaven getting spots in the top 3. Being a true power couple. A force to be reckoned with.

LoliEdd was focussed on the title and the title alone. Whilst the preparations for the City champion siege were being done, and alliances were made. There only remained one more question: “WHO WILL GET THE 3RD SPOT?”. 

Heavens doe-eyes looking at the castle so hopeful. Would it finally be her time? As time and time again she was passed over for other members in her Starbucks clan. 

LoliEdd looked up at the sky and said: “head or tail, Heaven?”. Heaven looked confused, as he then explained, he wasn’t going to pick between Hyber and her. Her heart sank. Her thoughts racing, however she just calmly said:”I'm not picking either one”. The only words she said at that hour. She didn’t want to ruin one of the best moments for LoliEdd, however the hurt was written all over her, he didn’t pick her, and she just simply refused to pick a coin side.

Hyber didn’t hesitate one second. 

Hyber: “If she’s not gonna pick, then I will pick tail”. 

LoliEdd: “Great, let’s do the coin toss.”

LoliEdd tossed the coin high in the stormy air, Hyber watched it like a hawk, hoping for tail so he’d get the 3th spot.

LoliEdd yelled, “TAIL IT IS, Hyber you’re up buddy”. 

Heaven just simply nodded once, not saying a single word, her silence went unnoticed as the starbucks clan was too caught up in the excitement that LoliEdd was up for his first crown.

As the time ticked by it was actually time for City Champion Siege to start. As this battle wasn’t won yet, this was merely just a plan. It was up to them to execute it flawlessly.

It's time to go time. The scarlet palace opens up. The SbG clan is waiting for LoliEdd to take the castle. The tension is felt in the stormy air.

Gooooooooooo

LoliEdd stays still, no movement, but the other players aren’t so steady. X Neo X takes the castle first. LoliEdd was disappointed in himself, why didn’t he react fast enough to get at minimum a solo in. Regardless, he patiently waits for the bubble to drop.

The timer drops, LoliEdd runs for his life. He solo’d successfully. SbG can now reinforce him fully. As there is some opposition. Within minutes they put some rallies up.

One of them being X Neo X, who’s rallying full spearmen into LoliEdds infantry. This doesn’t look like the brightest plan. The storm is still heavy, and the rallies hit and cause bloodshed on both sides. 

Wave after Wave LoliEdd remains in the castle.

LoliEdd yells: “ Reinforce, Reinforce, keep it full. We got this! Only some rallies hurt use T1’s for those.”

He remains calm, his grimace smile on his face increases as time ticks down and he moves closer to holding his crown in his hand.

The waves keep coming, but they don’t bother SgB that much, the determination to help LoliEdd achieve his crown, burns like a deep flame in all of them. 

Then They do the swaps, Karasa holds for a few minutes. Again wave after wave he holds on strong. 

After 9 minutes it’s Hyber’s time.

Even Hyber tanks the hits.

After 5 minutes, Hyber let’s go and gives the castle back to LoliEdd. Who stays there until the end.

LoliEdd secured the crown by holding for 40 minutes. Hyber got his 3rd place. Even with out any spot, Heaven was proud on her hubby LoliEdd. SbG started celebrating the victory, laughter and cheers until the early hours.

LoliEdd enjoys the moment, he basks in it. His Crown. Finally his crown. It feels perfect.

And Yet … not 100% perfect.

During the celebrations, he catches a glimpse of Heaven’s smile, but it’s less than her usual smile, more distant. The weight of the crown feels a bit heavier on his shoulders now.

Heaven comes towards him and says:”Congratulations, hubby”. Her tone is more distant than her usual excited tone when she’s around him.

He grabs her hand too tightly, wishing he could say more, but the words stick in his throat. "Thanks, Heav...," he manages. "Couldn't have done it without you."

She smiles again, the same, small, hollow smile, and disappears into the crowd, leaving only silence behind her.

Loliedd had won.

But some victories, he realized, came at a price. 

Finally with the crown in his hands, he made a promise to himself: “He won the crown, and he would win Heaven back too. Just like he always did.”
