GoTWiC [AoH] S3R5 House Stark

Greetings ladies and gentlemen. We're back with new adventures from Arena of Honor. After two disappointing matches in which Stanko and the team took 4th place, they were highly motivated and wanted to return to the top 3 and will do their best to achieve that. However, Stanko wanted to change something and sent letters to his teammates asking if they were willing to try out in the afternoon match. Some were delighted, some were surprised, but all confirmed positively and started preparing for the match.

For the first time, we entered the Arena complete and we were not tense looking for the last player to fight, because someone canceled. However, now we were all ready and wanted the match to start as soon as possible. This time we represented House Stark.

Stanko immediately sent couriers to scout the opponents. And he received a very encouraging report because there was not a single opponent that strong that he knew. House Baratheon was built by the LEG alliance, against whom they fought a long time ago, where they managed to win.

Also, another strong house was the Lannister house, which was made up of the TML group.

And those two houses with us were favorites in this match. But anything can happen in an hour, so stay with us. The battle started and we all headed to the Strongholds to finish them as soon as possible and get points. We decided on trading posts because they bring the most points. But that's why we needed the Maidens, more precisely 3 because they bring a 50% increase in points. The first Altar was opened and DemonQ sent his troops, but was immediately attacked by Arwen - a strong spearman from House Baratheon. As the others were busy attacking the opposing Altars, Stanko readied his spearmen and quickly hit the Altar. In a collision between two very strong spearmen, Stanko won thanks to more warriors.

"This will be a very tough fight with them, Arwen is very strong and we have to be careful", Stanko told DemonQ.

We managed to win 2 more Strangers, which we have never done before, and Stanko already saw in this that this will be an easy match and that we can reach Glory. In the fight for Maiden, we started with the same tactics, but Stanko soon changed his mind. DemonQ attacked the Lannister's Maiden and with Stanko's quick reaction he got additional spearmen which he thought would be enough to save the Maiden from the opponent's solo attacks. However, he was quickly dissuaded because he did not expect to have a player with NK and Vorian as his opponents. It was a very strong infantry player that DemonQ could hardly defend against.

Stanko did not know about this player and was surprised when he saw him on the battlefield. He knew that now the chances of winning the first place are much more difficult, but he trusted in Ches 2, as a very strong cavalry player.

However, the most important thing is that we had 3 Maidens and that we were currently in the first position, but Glory had yet to come and that will decide. In the meantime, Stanko had to defend the conquered Altars, and most of all from the Baratheon house, who were constantly trying to conquer theirs.

Stanko managed to defend them without major losses, but they made it difficult for us because we could not focus on other buildings. However, they were mostly defended by Stanko and that brought him a lot of elimination points, putting him in first place in the general ranking. Once again he had to defend our castle, this time in a different location and he was a stronger bow player, but Stanko defended without any problems.

Glory started and we had to be as efficient as possible. The goal was for Ches 2 to attack Glory with an attack and take it immediately, but the Lannister house spoiled our plans and they immediately managed to conquer it with a solo attack. Stanko ordered a double rally of our strongest Infantry player and Ches 2.

The plan was for Ches 2 to strike first and thus cut the opposing army in half to relieve Git with his infantry. However, even though they planned to strike at the same time, Ches's army was quite fast and there was a big difference between the two strikes, so the opponent could send recovered troops and meet the new attack with a full castle.

And so it was, Git hit a far more numerous army and had no chance of victory.

But we did not give up. We had the chance to try one more time. However, the Altars were again attacked by strong infantry. Since Ches 2 couldn't react we had to leave Git to defend them and try only one attack on Glory.

"Send all the cavalry to Ches, quick! This is our last chance. He needs all the cavalry". Stanko told his teammates, hoping that Ches was strong enough to win.

Stanko asked to speed up and send all the cavalry as soon as possible because it was our last chance. The attack began. We hoped that someone else would attack before us and thus reduce the number of the army in Glory, but we were alone and it seemed that everyone had already given up on the idea that they could expel the Lannisters from Glory. Still, 4m, of which over 3m were T5, was not enough to defeat an opponent.

Seeing the report and that there were less than 4m infantry left, Stanko ordered Ches 2 to make a quick solo attack and try to knock the opponent out of Glory in the last seconds. Ches immediately went on the attack, but the opponent was quick and sent additional troops so that Ches sacrificed a large part of the cavalry against the 4m infantry. This was the only chance to save first place, but it would mean the risk of focusing too much on Glory and not paying attention to the defense of other buildings. Now it was necessary to preserve second place, which we had an 8k lead with less than 20 minutes to go.

Again, there were attacks by House Baratheon, namely Arwen, who was quickly reinforced by her teammates. Learned from the experience of the last match, this time we started much more seriously. Git started an infantry rally that quickly loaded up and went on the attack. It was a very successful attack and the most important thing was that we managed to defend ourselves.

There was no time to rest because already on the other side Stanko started a rally attack on Dragonpit. Even though he was not full, he did not have time to wait for the rest of the army, but he thought that he would have enough army to defeat the enemy. It was a clash between two strong spearmen, where Stanko still managed to win thanks to stronger synergy and more spearmen.

With this victory, we managed to secure second place with 8 minutes left in the match. This was a great success for all of us and we finally created an excellent position, which was the goal from the beginning of the match. Finally, there was a more relaxed end to the match where Stanko and the team could enjoy the end of the match.

All that remained was to finish the match in style and Stanko wanted to do it in the best way. He wanted to achieve as many elimination points as possible and be the best in his house in a match in which they achieved an excellent result. He launched into solo attacks on several opponents, not looking at what was inside. There were several strong attacks, the strongest of which was against the 3m army, where Stanko won and got a lot of elimination points.

Until the end of the match, there were no major activities and the match ended for Stanko in the high 3rd position, which was his record so far.

All in all, Stanko was satisfied with the match because of the great individual success, but also the 2nd place and thus achieved another great success after 2 bad matches.

Now it was necessary to rest the army from the tiring battle and prepare for the next one.
