Hunger had been sleeping for the last week. Ever since AoH he had stopped playing his account and let it sleep to give one of his friends his Return to Westeros points. For that time frame, his account was in the alt alliance of Hotep and him, 3B3.
Only after his account was asleep already did he realize that with that timing he might miss the new anniversary 3-way KvK. He was praying he would be able to give his points away on Sunday after reset and bring his account back for the battle, and when reset came, he checked, and he was able to get back, just in time for KvK.
There were still a few problems, though. Firstly, he was still on k69, where he had jumped to for CCS two weeks prior, and although he had no beef with the main alliance there, WJB, they were also not friends, and so he could not be safe on from his own kingdom. Secondly, he was also alone in the 3B3 shell, so there was no way for him to get reinforcements or start rallies.
Because he did not have high hopes for a fun KvK and when reset came, he did not really pay attention to his own match and rather checked the matchup from Hotep who was with RoD for this KvK. As it was no-death KvK he just unbubbled and waited for things to come.
And he would wait for a while. At the start he tried faking inf gear, but later just put his spear gear back on as he was paying attention to what happened to Hotep. After almost 30 minutes, something finally happened, although it would need 2 minutes longer until Hunger realized as he was still looking at Hotep's kingdom, where Hotep had taken part in a rally and was now hiding his troops.
Looking at the report and then following the follow-up rallies (the targets always bubbled or jumped kingdom), he missed that he had been attacked on his own account. 2 minutes later he realized and had a look at the report:
Hunger had been attacked by tank007 from KsA. Although tank was not weak, he was weaker than Hunger, and Hunger also had 10 times more troops on defense, so he did not even have dead in the defense. Why tank decided to attack, Hunger did not know. Of course he was low power, but his 5 red gear pieces should have told tank007 that he was not an easy target.
After this first hit, now knowing that there was at least one alliance active and willing to fight, Hunger started looking around and went to k437 to scout a small castle. He did not think there were any troops in there, but being active is the best way to attract potential solo attacks. Hunger did not have to wait for long.
Dazzerrie came a lot closer to actually dealing significant damage, the counter of synergy and troop type helped a lot together with t5s in the attack, but Dazzerrie had underestimated the amount of troops and stats Hunger had, and with 8 times the troops, Hunger was still able to get away with a win, something he was very happy about. He had always hesitated to bait in front of inf accounts and this showed him that he could tank at least medium strength inf accounts.
With 2 lords in his dungeon, Hunger now started to hit the castles that were for the most part just filled with t1s. It took KsA about 15 minutes, but then they had found an account to start a rally on Hunger.
As ThaNOs was infantry and most of Hunger's meat shields had died, Hunger decided not to tank and instead jumped kingdom, but KsA followed him and started another rally, so this time Hunger could not jump. He still had another trick at hand and sent all his troops out.
One of the rally fillers from KsA would attempt a solo, and so now the Lord was free. ThaNOs had canceled his rally, and with fervor now below the 5-minute mark, Hunger decided to pull back his troops. He could have just kept his troops out, but he hoped to maybe catch a solo while he was pulling back, potentially getting a third Lord.
While pulling back, his Laptop was not super happy with him having multiple instances of the game open; in hindsight, Hunger regretted not closing them, but this time he would not be punished for it. Although his recalling was not on time, he did get his lord march back and enough of his spear to cap the lord of the same KsA player that had attacked him previously.
When ThaNOs next rally was ready to launch, Hunger bubbled and went to bed. It was 2:30 am for him, after all. The next day some RL duties prevented Hunger from playing much, but he had his 30 minutes of fun, so he was not super sad.
Overall, it had been a great KvK for Hunger. After 1 week of absence, he had been able to make his solo trap work again great, capping 3 lords, including one from a decent inf account, showing that he could even tank one of those and did not have to rely on counters. One thing he should not forget though was to close unnecessary accounts during battle, as that could bite him in the back in the future. A solo trap like him always had to be careful when fighting a kingdom, or in this case three kingdoms…
