More benefits, more surprises
One more time we are returning to the glorious battlefields of Arena of Honor to witness 14th round of one of the strongest matchups where Bully team and our champion lord Alatunn will try to conquer City of Glory and emerge victorious on their way to the top ranks of the 2 season that is only 2 battles away from its end. It was spectacular and intense season lets see one of the last battles!
Once again the bully team was assembled by its leaders Ana (MooON), Ur Candy and benni(redOCEAN). As many times before the meeting of warlords was set for 12th hour of the day and after everyone had arrived team captains signed the final list of participants and we started to wait for the decision of the Old Gods patiently or maybe not so much 😂, waiting for their consideration about who should we face off that day.
Last minutes before the start flied away like Autumn birds flying to the South and ancient magic moved us on the battlefield placing near Tyrell's clan house whose colors we had to defend that day. First things first before the battle had to start we had to find out our enemies. Scout squads were dispatched into all directions while the rest prepared for the first stage - capturing of strongholds and reinforcements of our clan House
The first encountered group was located to the right of us near the clan house of Lannister. The team consisted of members from different alliances and it was hard to say if they met each other just yet or if they played like that for a while. One thing was clear: they had quite a good cavalry rally leader from the GCM alliance - Minity - that gave them some chances to fight for altars and maybe even seize some mine shaft. Although the group looked weak to seriously contest us for ownership of City of Glory.
Even further to the right our scouts discovered a team composed of FDH and DUM players. They were stationed near the clan house of Baratheon. Previously we met them a couple of times and even though they dont have really strong fighters, good organization and fighting spirit together with wit always allowed them to end up in the upper part of team score ranking. It is for sure they will be “slippery fish” once again forcing us to make more effort to take over their lands.
Now let's look on the other flank. Right near us to the left was located a very mixed team. Today they got the honor to fight under the banner of House Targaryen, a most famous and glorious of all houses whose ancestors sunken Seven Kingdoms in fire and blood many times. Even mixed teams are weak most of the time, that one had two good rally leaders: PQL John Weak, a pretty famous CCS fighter focused on infantry troops and cavalry oriented HHH LucentWings. One more team that cant challenge us seriously but is able to put up some fight to make us entertained, lord Alatunn began to feel the approaching joy 😀
The next one to the right was a team of entirely HD! members. That day they got to carry into the battle the banner of Greyjoy house. The HD! alliance is one of the recent rising stars in Seven Kingdoms. They managed to split 3-4 places with WxC at last SOW playoffs and every HD! the team we met showed quite good fighting skills, persistence and flexibility. If only they were somehow stronger, what a great battle could we have there. Nevertheless, it was obvious that we wouldnt have a boring battle like it happens sometimes, unfortunately 🙂
At last on the opposite side of the battlefield near the clan house of Starks Old Gods placed another team with members from DUM but this time there were almost only DUM members except HD! shrike. Even Stark’s team also had no formidable rally leaders, they had a couple good warriors - Silica and shrike also it was obvious they could form an alliance with Baratheons via DUM part and Greyjoys via shrike. In such a case their coalition would have way more chances if they show decent activity trying to attack all over the battlefield overloading us with sheer numbers.
Lord Alatunn was watching scout reports with some hope for a good fight today as even none of our opponents could match us with strength, they still have room to use asymmetric warfare and try to exhaust us even though their chances to dispute City of Glory still were around absent. Let there be war!
Excited and waiting with last patience Crimson(one of alatunn’s names) sent his armies into Baratheons lands the next moment after Old Gods lifted up protective domes from first altars. Sometimes it happened that way that he missed the first fight while being somewhere in his own thoughts, but not today! NOT TODAY! 😂 General Den answered the call and sent his best bow troops led by such strong commanders like Cercei, Dany and Senelle and even the other day they could bring him a victory, incaution attack of unknown enemy who came out to be stronger brought him decisive defeat instead. Scout your enemy or prepare to pay maesters double salary 😀
When Baratheon’s altar of Stranger was occupied Crimson shifted his attention to another side of the battlefield where Greyjoy’s armies were close to finishing the same process. The time was almost out and it was running out with every second more and more, tick-tock, tick-tock, there was no time to send scout (maesters rubbing their hands together with glee 😂) I mean I just made a point of need of scouting and I am going to do the opposite on the next minute, nope, our maesters are just very rich people, they never have lack of work. Rapid charge of heavy cavalry struck into…a huge enemy army, it seemed they sent every T5 cavalrymen they had. It was a brutal defeat, George Bilys showed no mercy, we barely took it on the lam 😑
Suddenly an unpredictable thing had happened and our clan house forces breached Lannister’s defenses, taking over their clan house. It was so unexpected that at first neither we nor the enemy realized what's going on. At last one of our champions Ur Candy sent his full army trying to defend such a great opportunity from massive solo attacks that were already on their way trying to return control to Lannisters of their main fortress. All of them were repelled and the time for a serious fight with the use of rallied armies had come. Everything in our war camp came into motion as we had only a very short time to send reinforcements. The shouts of soldiers, the clanging of weapons and armor, the neighing of horses, the roar of dragons in the sky mixed together with columns of dust and sweat, a wild creature called the army was preparing for the decisive throw. One after another our troops left the war camp heading toward the Lannister’s clan house. The battle was severe and bloody but the advantage was on our side and after a while leftovers of the enemy army had to retreat leaving behind a battlefield covered with fallen soldiers, killed horses and dragons. We emerged victorious and finished occupying the Lannister clan house suffocating their team point income making their further fate pretty obvious. War is fury there is no mercy.
We only finished celebrating the successful seizure of the neighboring clan house when when scouts returned back from Greyjoys land brought good news - they discovered George Bylis guarding the altar of Maiden alone. It was a great opportunity to test Crimson’s army and maybe take revenge from previous defeat 😀 This time George was obviously out of his plate and caught out of arms, serious losses that he had to take from the first seconds forced our rival to retreat pretty fast, vendetta!
However, George didnt plan to stop, probably understanding that our forces overstretched all over the battlefield which was true while Geroge had all armies at his hand. Our scouts reported the enemy assembling a big army while Crimson's request to send reinforcements answered one warlord only. It was a tough moment previously attempt to fight enemy’s rallied army ended up with disaster but now we are not alone 😀 It was a great battle, superior quality of our armies together with better commanders equipped with better improved weapons allowed to cause to enemy significant casualties while taking back pretty much less…but enemy had serious reserves and they were sending them a wave after a wave and after all we had to retreat leaving near altar of Maiden a piles of enemy corpses while taking back to our camps our fallen battle comrades! That time George had to wash his face with the blood of his own troops.
Harsh and intensive clashes all around the battlefield werent stopping for a moment, our troops were leaving and returning to our war camp nonstop. At last one of the scouts returned with a report of a great infantry army trying to occupy our altar of Maiden. Since we played war camp strategy we had no need to have any of those but the challenge itself was very interesting. Crimson summoned his officers and after a quick brief his army was dispatched for a gallop fast attack. The results exceeded all expectations, heavy cavalry cut into infantry lines like a hot knife into a piece of butter. Fear and panic gripped the enemy ranks, further aggravating the catastrophe, the infantry formation collapsed and ceased to resist.
The battle was going to its end. It was an interesting and intensive day at Arena of Honor full of clashes, victories and some defeats 😀 As the cherry on the pie George decided to not leave City of Glory unchallenged and as a final accord assembled a big army just for one last attack. And even though it ended up with defeat it was a valiant try! Bully team emerged victorious while we had the opportunity to face numerous enemies trying to beat us not that much with brutal power as with coordinated attacks all over the battlefield. It was a good battle and we had to make a pretty serious effort to be able to handle most of the calls, thus it felt really good not like when you take everything without any resistance. We also set a new record ending up with 262k points! And now we are moving forward to the last round of Arena of Honor where the fate of the champions title will be decided in one last battle. Thanks for reading and see you next week!
