The Bane of Archers

For this month’s KvK the Heroes on K285 ended up facing off against K424!

Victory is never certain, so it’s important to always be as prepared as possible, no matter the opponent and no matter how easy it may seem!

Despite the enemy kingdom not having any castles able to challenge the trained and experienced troops of the Heroes, they were formidable with farming and were able to grow a substantial lead while most of the Heroes were asleep.

But let’s start at the beginning! While nothing happened in the first hours, let’s take a look at what other heroes in a different battlefield were dealing with!

BARLAB, one of HOH’s mightiest heroes, was facing down a bowmen castle, while being locked down by the fire of an enemy sapphire dragon as well.

BARLAB exclaimed: “Fear not my allies, even with me being blockaded, we shall face every enemy that stands in our way!” All his allies in the kingdom rallied to his cry and supported him in his endeavour.

Not only did he manage to win his very first attack, he managed to break the entire defense of his enemy and capture their lord!

“We captured this coward!”, BARLAB screamed, as he prepared to launch more attacks.

With no lord to guide them, the remaining troops fell one by one, running like headless chickens around on the battlefield. Even if it took many attacks to kill off all the remaining archers, they all died in the end, even the lower-tiered bowmen, who probably were still in training. 

After the losses were counted and the resources were plundered, BARLAB looked over the battlefield and said: “Let’s rest now, the remaining enemies are trembling in fear and won’t stand in our path to victory.”

Meanwhile it was time for the heroes in K285 to wake up again. It was not long until they finally managed to find an enemy target as well!

MAKIMA wasted no time to call for her allies to join her in the attack.

“Let’s turn the tide and start our comeback!”, she proclaimed.

Her allies wasted no time to join their experience battle leader and their trust is not misguided!

The infantry troops roared, motivated by their great commanders and raised their shields to protect from the enemy onslaught of arrows flying towards them. They kept pushing forwards until they managed to reach the archers, who without any troops to protect them were no match in close combat to the well-trained infantry. After several more attacks on her own, MAKIMA claimed a final victory with all of the enemy troops falling victim to the swords and shields of her infantry.

At the same time, Grombold rallied the Heroes’ troops as well, trying to inflict more damage to the enemy forces by attacking a different enemy. After the preparation time was over, the rallied spearmen troops marched towards the enemy castle.

“Charge! Don’t let anybody escape!”, the commander of the troops, Sararer, yelled out in excitement for the battle to come. The troops arrived at the enemy fortress, started tearing down it’s gates and were wondering, why they were not encountering any enemy troops so far. “They must be trying to defend the city from the inside only…” Sararer thought to himself. “What a weird strategy but you should never let your guard down, no matter what enemy you are facing.”

Once the gates fell, the troops started charging into the city just to find it empty. Completely empty. No enemy troops trying to defend it, no resources in the warehouse and no civilians in their houses either.

“Did they just abandon their city?”, one of the soldiers asked their commander.

“They must have seen our great army approaching and knew they would not stand a chance and fled their homes!”, he exclaimed to the starting cheers of the soldiers, who were sad of missing out on a battle but glad none of their comrades had to die to secure the victory. No messages of condolences that needed to be delivered to families anxiously waiting on the return of the troops.

After this battle, the Heroes turned their attention towards occupying the Great Castles.

"If we can keep the castles in our control till the end of the battle, we will secure our victory without shedding any more blood!" could be heard from Grombold, the leader of the Heroes.

So the Heroes did as they were told. From Sunspear to Winterfell and even the capital of Kings Landing was filled to the brim, with well-trained and high level troops, seasoned by many battles that the Heroes have fought and won in the past.

Across the battlefields, it seemed like today was not a great day for bowmen facing the Heroes with close to a hundred million bowmen being killed by BARLAB and MAKIMA alone.

What battles will await the Heroes next? Who will they have to face? Only the future will tell but we certainly should keep an eye on them!
