Unexplained mysterious power loss or power points reduction

If you have lost power as shown at the top left of the screen, you might have sold Fiery Crystal Mine weapons or used their fragments to upgrade weapons. 

I sold some weapons twice one day.  Both times I later saw to my horror that my power had dropped one million points. I begged for help on the Alliance chat because I did not know why I was losing power. My wonderful teammate Gtown526TTV explained weapon sales and upgrades cost power points. 

I asked the Game in Support to stop this. It won’t. I then asked that it explain this penalty in the question mark when you sell or upgrade weapons, so more players learn why they are suffering a catastrophic loss of power. Hopefully if it happens to you and you search this Forum like I did in panic, unlike me you will find this post explaining what happened. When I searched the Internet, I found nothing. If my teammate had not saved me, I don’t know how I would have made the connection between weapon sales and the dramatic power point penalty.
