Dragon Talent and Portrait

Hi everyone, i’m PO PandaMoratia. In today’s article we will talk about the Dragon Talent Tree and Portrait of Dragon.

They both use Dragon Crystal to be improved and can be to some point solved by math. That will give us a roadmap to make sure we get the most stats points/Dragon Crystal during our evolution.

First Thing First : 

Before anything, you want to raise your Dragon level to 55 and unlock the Talent Tree and upgrade the third skill of your Dragon to level 10.

Then and only then, we will start to look at Dragon Talent Tree upgrade and Portrait.

First Step : 

Through Dragon Talent Tree, we will need 150+150+150+450+450=1350 Dragon Crystal to get 90+90=180 Stats Points. Which means 1350/180 = 7.5 Dragon Crystal per stats points. Dragon Portrait gives 19.8 pts per level for elemental and 21.8 for Holy/Shadow. So the equivalent of portrait level that correspond to the dragon talent is 19.8*7.5=148.5 Dragon Crystal which is 6 stars.

So we will start to upgrade our Dragon Portrait to 6 stars and then the Talent Tree to collect all the stats points (which means only use 150 Dragon Crystal on Accuracy and Resilience nodes).

At this point we will have to unlock the next level of Dragon Talent Skill before we can invest again into stats. Significantly increasing the Stats per Dragon Crystal ratio.

Second and Third Steps : 

Our calculation then becomes 4350/180=24.2 Dragon Crystal needed per stats points. That raise our Portrait equivalent at up to 24.2*19.8=479 Dragon Crystal which corresponds to the portrait at 12 stars. So we will first invest into our portraits up to 12 stars, before advancing into our Dragon Talent Tree.

Fourth and Fifth Step : 

Now at this point we will have to max the Increase Damage deal % node and the Reduce Damage Taken % before we can move further into our Dragon Tree. But then we have 3 nodes of stats instead of the previous 2. The calculation then becomes (9000 + 3000 + 3000)/270=55.5 Dragon Crystal. That put our Dragon Portrait equivalent to 55.5*19.8=1098.9 Dragon Crystal. That means Portrait up to 19 stars first before investing again on our Dragon Talent Tree all the way to the 8th level of our Dragon Skill Excluded. 

End of the road :  

At this point there is no more Math to help make a decision, you can choose to unlock your last level of skill, or finish the Accuracy/Resilience node or keep climbing your portrait, this is entirely up to you and what your account needs.

Alternative way to proceed : 

The step by step progress estimation involves some back and forth between portrait and talent tree that may not be to the taste of everyone. It gives the reflection of the highest stats point/Dragon Crystal at any point of time, not overall. If you prefer a simpler global approach then the calculation become 53k Crystal cost for 3060 Stats points which is 17.32 Dragon Crystal per point in Global picture, which is the equivalent of 17.32*19.8=343 Dragon Crystal corresponding to Portrait at 11 stars.

With this approach you then first increase your dragon portrait to 11 stars and then go all in Talent Tree all the way to the “End of the road” chapter of this guide. 

Conclusion : 

Dragons are very important for your marches efficiency and you need to be careful on how you upgrade it. Whether you use the simplified or complicated version, make sure you get the most out of your dragon crystal that is needed in tremendous amounts.
