Today in our expedition, deep into the heart of Norheim, we venture into the wild lands of Drifta. Here we explore the top left corner of our map where the city of Cochabiel resides. In occupying this city, you obtain tax rewards, speedups, and resource gathering benefits. Beware a journey to this gilded land from the world heart, may take multiple relocations without the benefit of a teleport. 

When planning and deliberating upon which cities to occupy within the kingdom of Ruslan, I highly recommend your alliance consider Cochabiel. This city unlocks opportunities to research technology within your academy faster, increase iron production, and supplies an hourly tax on stone. The combined benefits denote this as an invaluable city to have in your arsenal of resources to help strengthening your alliance and individual lord marches.

One would want to consider occupying this lower-level city when you enter the preparation stage or season one. Occupying this city at the onset of the game exists as the most advantageous time, because the garrison and wall power is significantly less than if you were pursuing this city in Season 2, 3, or conquest.

The connections one can draw between the chosen name for the city Cochabiel, within the kingdom of Ruslan, exemplifies once again how the developers have woven within the fabric of our world, concealed meanings of significant magnitude.

Cochabiel is an angel from the stars and tied to the spirit of the planet Mercury. In astrology Mercury represents the principles of communication, mentality, thinking patterns, the ability to rationalize and reason, adapt, and variability. It is a planet that represents information and understanding, creativity, and expression. All of these attributes are extremely valuable and important to become successful not only individually within infinity kingdom but also as an alliance.

Perhaps fortuitus, however, I chose to believe our developers strategically named and placed this thriving medium sized city within Infinity Kingdom upon the cost. A location where I envision the development and success was heavily influenced upon the ability to navigating and calculate nautical positions while traversing oceans via sextants, (a tool used to measure between two objects such as the horizon and celestial object such as a star or planet). The tales of Cochabiel are said to be derived from Babylonian religious lore. This fallen angel is responsible for introducing ceremonial magic to humans as well as delivering the map of the stars.

Also know by the name Kokabiel and Cochabiah, Cochabiel commanded an army of angel spirits alongside humans. Based on lore of Cochabiel’s actions, he truly was a fierce leader and displays the characteristics of the Norheim Ruslan kingdom.

The layers between the connections continue when examining the location of the City Cochabiel within the territorial region of Drifta. The root of the word Drifta being “drift” transcends across languages and cultures similar to the sky that encompasses the world. Drift is one of those unique words which appears similar no mater where you are in the world, but can also take on many forms and meanings.

To drift, exists as a word, which explains an object or thing typically being carried along by elements such as wind, water, or air. Elements closely tied to the sky and sea and associated with the fallen angle Cochabiel. Within the English language “drift” represents not just the act of an object or thing driven or carried along but, to exists as a driving force of momentum, and impulsion. In some languages, the world has evolved to also represent operation, service, management. Qualities associated with leaders.

Following a hunch, this city has connected me and taught me a little more from friends forged within the game as I explored the word Drift beyond the English language. Drift in policy is dryt, and drifting in Russian is: дрейф; (which when spoken phonetically, would sound in English as: dref). In Croatian the word drift is: drift or driftanje. But language is never simple. In French, drift is déraper. However drifting at sea is dériver and when used as a noun la derive. Context is also important when looking at the word drift within the Spanish language. A boat drifting at sea would be “a la deriva” leaves drifiting in the air - Las hojas están flotando en el aire… or - Las hojas se alejan por el aire. And as for cars drifting, it is derrapar. The Norway word for drift is drive or drev.

Language is not dead, but a living organism that grows and evolves with societal influence. When examined closely, an individual can discover connections from worlds away, uniting individuals from many walks of life. This too embodies the culture and interconnections developed within our server families, as we meet friends that span beyond the borders of our own communities.

I enjoyed learning about this city named after an angel who provided maps of the stars, lead a legion of angels to march along side humans into battle and, who symbolizes the plant mercury; representing communication, adaptability, and rationalized thought. I hope you too discovered something new and will appreciate this city a little more, beyond the bounty it can provide you and your alliance.
