💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? Welcome to my article where I will be taking a closer look at the priority and order of research nodes players should focus on and the difficulties those nodes address and solve.

💠Overview
For new players, the choices in technology may seem overwhelming but there are clear choices that should be prioritized before anything else. People may look to prioritize nodes that enhance their strength, but I believe that’s the wrong way to approach the early and mid-game. Additionally, we’re going to ignore the Defense tree entirely because no one should be spending time and speedups on researching those nodes before the other three trees.
💠Production
Early on, players should absolutely focus on the Production tree as there are three nodes here that will help save time and tackle roadblocks when you are trying to improve. The first is Speedy Construction. Players will most likely be trying to upgrade their castles and buildings so they can increase the tier level of their troops which gives the most amount of power. Speedy Construction will save speedups and reduce the upgrade time of buildings. Leveling Speedy Construction will also give access to the other two priority nodes in the Production tree: Gold Piles and Rapid Progress.

Players will inevitably need to spend more gold than they can obtain for immortal upgrades, dragon levels, and sailing. There are only a few ways to earn gold in the early game and Infernal Assault will not be available, too difficult, or too expensive in AP to do. Gold Piles will help dwellings generate more gold and mitigate some of the gold issues. Gold Piles is also a pre-requisite to unlocking the most important technology research node in Rapid Progress.

Rapid Progress will reduce technology research time by up to 30%. With how many nodes are available for research in the game, you will likely always be doing some sort of research and some nodes will take up to 45 days. This will reduce that by about 13 days. Rapid Progress should absolutely be the first node you should max in any tree. It will save an immense amount of speedups and will help you gain power through research faster in the long run.

💠Troops
Once you max Rapid Progress in the Production tree, you can move on to the Troops tree as nothing after Rapid Progress is worth spending time on. In the Troops tree, there are two nodes you should max first, Superhuman Speed and Abundant Supplies. Superhuman Speed will make your troops’ marching speed up to 50% faster. This will be crucial in fights where sending your march first will allow you to recall them before the enemy lands a hit. It will also save you time when you hunt gnomes, slay bosses, and attack others in general. It’s the first node in the tree so it will be a pre-requisite to unlocking Abundant Supplies.

Abundant Supplies reduces the AP you have to spend to perform actions like attacking, rallying, and garrisoning. Throughout the game, if you are not actively spending and buying AP potions, you may not have enough AP to do everything you want. You can hunt more gnomes, farm more castles, and participate more in events like Rebel Tracks and Infernal Assault where you can earn rewards as you spend AP. After Abundant Supplies, some people choose to go further and tackle the nodes that give your troops more HP which will give you more power but others will pivot to the Immortal tree. You can also skip the ones that don’t affect the troops you use like, for example, Spearmen.

💠Immortal
The Immortal tree is where most players will spend the most time researching. The nodes players should target and max first are the technology that increases 100 troops per level to the type of troop you use. There are two sets of these, one in the middle of the tree and one near the end. Like the Troops tree, most people don’t use all four types of troops so they will opt to skip anything related to those unless they are pre-requisites for the next set. Not every node in the Immortal tree will give power to your marches but these two sets will give the most.

💠Summary
In the early game, you will want to maximize increasing the speed of your progression and then slowly shift towards adding power to your troops. Those who skip the Production tree early will have to spend more speedups to end in the same place as someone who prioritizes those nodes first. Reducing the amount of speedups you need to use will free them for other research nodes.
