Building a Path to Vengeance, an All Out War story

For endless days, All Out War was ravaging through the land. The harsh fighting was made even worse by the inhumanly cold winter, but for once Shadow warriors, that were comprised by MBL, SIN and NWL/R11, were in high spirits indeed. Shadow was supposed to be fighting with Tempest, a union between the PHR, 303 and PRA alliances, who were their map neighbors. Shadow was especially eager to fight Tempest, as at the beginning of the All Out War, Tempest had requested the use of four villages to hunt a dragon, which Shadow had granted, only to be betrayed by Tempest and be double declared at the same time by both Lordsbane and Tempest, which resulted in Shadow losing their cities. Tempest unbeknownst to Shadow, had already allied  themselves with Lordsbane, whose warriors were from the clans of TQL, AVO and FVG, and they had taken the cities between Tempest and Shadow. Moreover they kept declaring in the rest of the green cities so Shadow could not fight them.

But finally the wait was over. After two weeks, Shadow warriors had managed to overthrow the Lordsbane ownership on the in between cities, and they could finally come to direct confrontation with Tempest and get their long awaited vengeance. PinkyOr, the oldest but maybe most formidable Shadow warriors, stood in the battlements of the newly won city and peered with his binoculars to the enemy’s terrain.

  • Damn and damnation, he exclaimed in disappointment, hitting his hand hard at the stone battlement in frustration.
  • What is it my general, asked him ChristianOr, a Shadow lieutenant, who was part of his retinue.
  • Use your eyes, woman, don’t you see? Their cities are protected by the peace period the heralds have proclaimed. Tempest warriors will be safe for two more days.
  • So what prevents us from attacking them after the peace period is over? she asked unperturbed.

Her calm manner was infuriating PinkyOr. He made a conscious effort to rein his temper, as her organising skills were rather useful for his armies, but the effort was costing him. A vein was throbbing in his forehead as he turned to reply to her.

  • We fought and bled for two whole weeks to win back our cities. All this we did so we can wreak revenge on the double crossing green tempest warriors. And now you tell me to wait for TWO MORE DAYS????? he had begun quietly but ended up shouting.

She took the binoculars from his hand and surveyed the area.

  • There, she pointed. Look at this village 193, there are many green warriors inside and should be done in 30 minutes.
  • We could wait in ambush, he mused, as he took back his binoculars and surveyed again the area around village 193, since we have no direct path.

She looked at his half hopeful half impatient face and took pity on him.

  • Or we could accelerate the building of our village 1061, which right now has no builders building it. We do it in less than half an hour, then we can creep up upon them while they are still building and take them unawares by occupying the village.
  • Can it be done this fast?

She was already going through her list of builders.

  • Tough to tell, my general, she replied. I have some men around and will try to send ravens to more to come, but might not be enough to build it this fast. Unless, she hesitated as a thought occurred to her, unless you are willing to help in the building yourself, you and your armies.

The thought of the legendary general grabbing a shovel or laying bricks had ChristianOr trying to suppress a smile. However the general was made of stern stuff, and he did not even pause.

  • Let’s get on with it, he told her as he was running to village 1061 and leaving her behind even if he had almost double her years.

ChristianOr arrived at the village but was still waiting for her best builder, a stocky man called Stalkers379 to arrive. Sadly a raven from him arrived. Stalker, true to his name was in the far north, stalking 117 village of Lordsbane, ready to ambush its builders.

ChristianOr shook her head, such an odd day today. The warriors became builders and the builders warriors. She gritted her teeth, and lay her scrolls aside, this village indeed every single hand it could find, so she also joined the building.

Besides the lack of builders, the warriors were making a good effort. Maybe it was the prospect of taking revenge on Tempest that made their hands fly and the village to be constructed in breathtaking speed. But village 193 had a huge head start. Luckily for Shadow, more Shadow warriors and builders appeared and together they worked in unison towards a common goal.

They soon overtook village 193, and they finished village 1061 with a ten minutes difference.

The second village 1061 was finished, the Shadow warriors moved to village 193, leaving the builders behind, and none was faster than PinkyOr, which was surprising considering his heavy armor, age and slow infantry army.

ChristianOr and AngieBaby flanked him, reading their soldiers as well. The village started slowly to turn from green to Shadow pink, and suddenly all the green warriors appear, including their strongest JabbaG.

But none was a match for PinkyOr’s bloodthirst. He bellowed “For Shadow” and fell upon them. His speed was outworldly, his sword was making mincemeat of his enemies. He never looked at troop types, if he was countering or being countered, nothing mattered. All he wanted was revenge, and he certainly got it.

ChristianOr looked at the village where not a single green soul had survived and then at him, leaning at her sword which she had hardly gotten to use.

  • Hope my general is pleased, she told him
  • Just a good start, he replied. And get your builders to build, my dear, We need a path. Tomorrow we will sack their city and put them all to the sword. Tomorrow Tempest dies.
