What’s up, folks? Since the Dragon Portrait patch, Dragon Crystals have been all the rage. Holy and Shadow users dread the lack of crystal availability even more. These crystals are extremely limited and only appear in certain packs and events. Let’s take a closer look at how and where you can get Holy and Shadow crystals so you can make a more informed decision about whether you want to start down this path.

💠Overview

Dragon Portraits will take a total of 107,196 Dragon Crystals to max at level 50. In addition, a fully maxed 8-8 Dragon Talent Tree will take 126,000 Dragon Crystals. With levels 10-10 inevitably on the horizon, it will take an additional 36,000 crystals, totaling 269,196 crystals. This isn’t even including the regular dragon skills you have to upgrade to unlock their talents. As you may know, you cannot farm Holy and Shadow Dragon Crystals like normal elements so let’s take a look at how many Holy/Shadow crystals one can get and figure out how long it would take to gather enough crystals to max your dragon in the current landscape of the game.

💠VIP Points Shop

Once players get to VIP 15, they can access the VIP Points Shop. Each batch of 20 Holy Dragon Crystals cost 3,000 VIP Points. Players can trade up to 5 batches a day (100 Holy Crystals), totaling 15,000 VIP Points which is equivalent to $1,500 worth of packs that give VIP Points. Certain packs like the Eye of Chaos and Theia’s Roulette Ticket bundles do not give gems or VIP Points. These Dragon Crystals are one of the more expensive crystals one can purchase. Unfortunately for Shadow Dragon users, Shadow Dragon Crystals are not available for purchase in the VIP shop.

💠Dragon Knight Bundle

The more recently released Dragon Knight bundles are purchasable once a week. Players can get to 1,500 Holy or Shadow Dragon Crystals a week for $185. These bundles also include a few dozen hours’ worth of universal speedups and some gold.

💠Light and Shadow Bundle

These Light and Shadow weekly bundles start at $5 for 40 crystals, then $10 for 80 crystals, $20 for 160 crystals, $50 for 400 crystals, and finally, $100 for 800. They total $185 for 1,480 Holy or Shadow Dragon Crystals weekly. It is 20 fewer crystals but players will also get 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 Dragon Essences from these packs, respectively. If you still need Dragon Essences, these are higher value than the Dragon Knight bundles.

💠GT Light and Shadow Bundle

On the GT Arcade App, there are a couple of monthly packs and bundles players can purchase as well. The Light and Shadow bundle gives 50 Shadow and Light Selection Chests that allow players to select 10 Holy or Shadow Crystals each, totaling 500 crystals. It also gives 10 Dragon Essences and two million gold. These bundles are purchasable five times so players can get a total of 2,500 crystals, 50 Dragon Essences, and 10 million gold for $250 per month.

💠GT IK Advanced Gift Pack

In the Points Giftpack section of the GT Arcade App, players can purchase the IK Advanced Gift Pack 1 and the IK Advanced Gift Pack 2 which gives 500 Holy Dragon Crystals and 500 Shadow Dragon Crystals, respectively. Both packs also contain 50 Raffle Tickets, three Epic Immortal Spirit Chests, and 100 Market Refresh Orders. Each of these packs can be purchased once a month for 30,000 GT Points each. These points can be earned by making purchases through the GT Arcade App. There are also daily tasks like viewing and liking forum posts, the Wheel Event, and Getamon mini-games (Monster & Monster and Monster Match) where you can earn GT Points.

💠Summary

Players can purchase a monthly number of 14,420 Holy Dragon Crystals for $1,730, 500 crystals for 30,000 GT Points, and about 3,000 Holy Dragon Crystals for 450,000 VIP Points. This brings it to a total of 17,920 Holy Dragon Crystals across various currencies. Shadow Dragon Crystals do not exist in the VIP Points shop so Shadow Dragon users will only be able to get 14,920 Shadow Crystals monthly. Fortunately, the VIP Points shop is a small percentage of the total and it is highly unlikely any player will be able to purchase all the Holy Dragon Crystals in the shop every day every month. VIP Points are just too expensive and difficult to get to be able to consistently spend on the crystals. Both the Dragon Knight and the Light and Shadow bundles are the best value if you only need the crystals. In the current version of the game, if you purchase every possible crystal bundle, it would take about 13 months to max a Holy Dragon to 8-8 and 15.5 months to max a Shadow Dragon to 8-8, including their portraits and excluding the dragon skills. Hopefully, this will help you make a more informed decision about whether you want to build Holy or Shadow Dragons.
