[City and Capital Exploration] – A close look at Dark Minerva; a former Capital of Ydvia, within the game Infinity Kingdom

Our [City and Capital Exploration] series continues with the former capital of the Ydvia Kingdom, Dark Minerva. To occupy this former capital, lords within an alliance will want to position themselves in a windmill formation. (Please defer to my prior article on parking formations). The Capital is situated North of the Forbidden Zone, at: X:633 Y:339. As with Vigorous Silvanus, we will begin with a brief high-level overview of this Capital; within the region of Hayyot. A region named after living angles depicted in the prophet Ezekiel's vision as spherical heavenly bodies of purity and perfect motion. A heavenly chariot. 

The magic and wounder the provincial capital Dark Minerva, unlocks, tells us a story deeply rooted into the roman goddess Minerva’s herself. Also known as the Roman counterpart to Athena, who emerged fully grown in a full set of full armor. She was the daughter of Jupiter (or Zeus). The name Minerva stems from "intelligent, understanding", “mind”, or "thought", with Proto-Indo-European roots. Her true power is never fully seen or reviled, but hinted at within the legions and myths.

The name of this capital reads as a cautionary tale for those who dared to bring harm to this realm. One sees the story of Norheim unfold when researching the capital’s namesake.

ver the course of her life Minerva has cast a spell to turn Medusa into the recognizable monster we know with the serpentine hair. Tamed Pegasus, and aided Hercules in killing the Hydra. She has woven her story into that of the Iliad changing Odysseus’ appearance to protect him. She was a woman of quiet strength and a strategic mind. This is not the being you would want to wrong, but is a general you would want to follow into battle to face against gnomes, chaos immortals, and bosses while adapting to situations of the unknown. Lords should tremble when facing enemies who exemplify Menierva’s being.

Named for a fierce and ruthless battle goddess, who defends her state and home from enemies, we can see why this capital would be placed in a region named after living angels. Minerva exists, as being immortalized as a protector of civilized life and agriculture, tamer of horses, the embodiment of wisdom, reason, purity, justice, law, and victory. 

Like Ydiva, the owl, her bird, has become an associated symbol of all she encompasses.

Dark represents fear, the unknown, and absence of light. This descriptive adjective suits The kingdom of Ydiva bordering Harold’s erected wall and closest to the frozen tundra in a constant state of winter.

So tread carefully as you traverse the land of this city located closer to the forbidden zone than the norther wall of ice. While, boasting a climate which attract travelers to stop and stay a night or two… Just be cognizant of the expert alchemists who may take up residency next to you. Presiding over Dark Minerva, Lothairede had after the breakup of the Empire of Light called upon the Goddess to help him safeguard his subjects through his own alchemy skills and those of other expert alchemist, he recruited to protect his people and the Harold Frozen Wall of the north.

This Provincial Capital requires an alliance to occupy a city in the same Province. Once occupied, an Alliance Leader can appoint a Lord as governor residing over this capital. The lord will receive 5% decrease in damage done to their calvary while holding this position. Additionally, they are able to appoint fellow alliance members official positions to supply them boosts in their quest to grow big and strong through daily tasks, activities, and wars.

Furthermore, as governor, this chosen lord can bestow additional bonuses for members within the alliance, IF their castle is located within the territory of the capital. The Governor can issue one of three orders; War tax, Quick Repair, and Hold All territory. Once an order has been issued and times out, there is a cool-down time before a new order can be issued again.
