Today, I bring you a guide that is probably one of the most basic concepts in the game, but which I am extremely passionate about ensuring the knowledge is available for every lord. To understand why I view this skill as critically important, I need to first share with you my story and journey across alliances within my first server.

I started playing infinity kingdom based on the recommendation of a co-worker, after I expressed the need for a healthy social life outside of work and home. This individual enthusiastically shared the following idea: “My son plays this online global game. I really do not know much about the game, but do know it appears to be developed for really intelligent people who love strategy. I think you would be good at it. Additionally, the game will provide you with what you are looking for, according to my son as it has a great community. Just give it a try for at least a month.”

I actually laughed when this suggestion was made to me. I was not much of a gamer. The last video game I played was Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, and Duck Hunt on Nintendo 64; in the mid 1990’s. You know the ones, where you had to blow into the gaming console and plastic computer card insert; then pray the game did not overheat before you reached the last level. I still recall the great frustration I experienced, when the game did freeze and those dreaded colored lines across the television screen appeared at critical moments. Or worse, your younger brother crawling across the livingroom floor and disconnecting the remote and unplugging the gaming device from the wall.

However, despite almost no gaming experience, her description intriguing and perked my interest to explore further. So, I download Infinity Kingdom with excitement over the wonderful possibilities I could unlock within this virtual new world.

At the beginning, I had entered the kingdom Ydvia, primarily because the idea of a wise owl and the color blue was most appealing. Leary at first, I committed myself to play for the recommended full month.

About 3 weeks in however, I was ready to give up. I honestly thought the objective of the game was to complete a series of miniature puzzle and daily tasks to collect immortals and dragons, similar to that of Pokémon cards. Over the course of a week, I had built myself up, what I felt comprised of a significant collection of immortals and saved the weird looking dog from killer bees.

I completed a majority of the ruins in the big game of I spy, that supplied a few clues along the way. I had absolutely no insight into the actual premise of the game and what I was playing. I did not even realize it was in a war game until my castle was attacked and teleported away from my happy little bundle of farming nodes.

Through these miniature games, it was evident an alliance was important to play and unlock additional aspects to continue advancing.

I had applied at the onset to join the alliance the French Coalition. I chose the alliance because of their flag. It was an amazing flag, and I did not understand the significance of joining the right alliance at this particular time. I was excited to be immediately accepted into this alliance. The first three or four days, fellow team members logged on, but their hours were not always congruent with mine. After about 5 days, all the players within this union became silent and a few hyper ones disappeared.

By weeks end, my entire alliance was silent. ALL of them. I received notices almost daily asking if I wanted to impeach the leader, but had no one to second this vote. After failing to impeach the leader I went in search to discover how to leave the alliance and join a new one.

I think I read every single page in the instructional book above the chat box…. Instructions on how to leave an alliance or change kingdoms did not reside here despite me wishing the information would magically appear conjured from thin air and desires, if I kept opening it up. Sadly my magical skills do not manifest in this way.

I next searched the Assistance gaming remote within the Lord information tab

But failed to discover how to leave an alliance here too.

I even delved into the depths whorl pool, asked my question to an unknown entity within this forum. (Sadly, receiving no response)

As I searched for instructions on how to leave the alliance, I continued to complete daily tasks, and read any, and all information within the game I could find.

About two and a-half weeks of playing, I had turned to our trusted friend Google, but even this search engine could not provide me the answer to my question…. “How do I leave an alliance within infinity kingdom”…

While I was able to get some results, almost none of them told me exactly what I was looking for and the exact steps to take. Additionally, I honestly had no clue what the “options tab” was and where to locate it within the alliance room.

Never the less, I am not one to give up when I commit to finding an answer. With one week remaining in the month, I promised my co-worked I would play the game to give it a fair chance. I delved back into the alliance icon based on my google search.

…I began to explore each item within this page. I had entered the alliance room multiple times through the past three weeks and clicked on almost every single option within this room, The exception being.... you guessed it... the setting gear on the far-right hand side. A button I assumed was to change the volume and sound within the game. Clicking on this button ended up as an experiment of let’s try this one last thing before I give up. It was this one little button however, that started me on my journey to meet great friends, mentors, and eventually join an alliance I had grown to view as my game family.

Now, you may ask why I shared this story with you, or who even cares… You might even be laughing at the fact it took me 3 weeks to discover how to leave an alliance. But I bring this story and guide to you, as I still believe there is a need for this information to be readily available. This fact became evident when earlier this week a new player who just discovered infinity kingdom reached out not sure how to leave, find, and join an active alliance.

I can emphasize and respect the struggles a new member who joins our community may experience when they find themselves in an abandoned alliance.

I also recognize having experienced something similar myself, the special community and bonds the right alliance can provide a new Lord just starting out and discovering the game for themselves can be game changing.

Therefore, I decided to create this guide to help others like my new friend who recently joined our community.

My hope is this guide can be unutilized by seasoned members, to provide a reference when asked in world chat how to come join their family, while providing a clear visual aid for those new to our world looking to find the right alliance to call home. If together sharing and providing this content, helps just one member continue to play and discover the love I have for the game and the community we have built together, then this article will be a success.

Steps for Leaving the Alliance:

There are two ways a member can leave the alliance. The first is by entering the alliance icon at the bottom of their game screen and selecting the alliance settings button on the bottom right-hand side of the screen underneath the scroll and quill. This will bring you to a page that has four possibilities. The last is to leave an alliance.

Once a Lord selects to leave the alliance, they will receive a warning message asking if they are sure they wish to leave and advising the lord they are unable to join an alliance for 15 minutes once exiting the current alliance they are within.

Alternatively, if you are within an alliance, with an active R5 or R6 leader, a lord can request this leader to remove them from the alliance so they do not need to wait the full 15 minutes before joining another alliance. This is helpful when leaving to trade honor with another alliance member or when merging multiple alliances into a single unit.

Only leadership is capable of removing a member where the 15-minute cool down period is not required.

An alliance leader can take this action by selecting the members icon within the alliance room.

Once leadership has identified the lord they wish to remove, they will need to click on this lord’s avatar and select the remove button denoted by a trashcan.

This will prompt the leader to confirm or cancel the action. The leader will want to select the red confirm button.

(Disclosure: No HYPER lords were removed in the making of this article. I promise Gabben II was not removed and remains within our alliance family)

Please remember, your R6 leader can grant R5 members authority to remove, promote, and demote members as they leave and enter an alliance. You will need to check your individual alliance settings to know if this option is provided to your specific R5 members.

This feature to remove members from an alliance resides as a beneficial tool for leadership.

It allows the alliance to remain active and health as a leader can remove silent members is to make space for active members looking to find a new home within a server.

There are other instances a leader may leverage removing a member from an alliance to protect them. While within the Legion of Frostborne, after gates had fallen, I observed and later utilized this feature to protect fellow members within my alliance family. There were times a member was not actively logged into the game, had no shield, and were targeted by a large whale no one in our union could effectively garrison and defend against.

To protect the member leadership removed the lord from the alliance, an action that results in the member being kicked from Frost and castle saved. This occurs because a lord can only reside in the Legion of Frostborn if they are a part of an alliance.

Please be aware when a member leaves the alliance their contributions to games such as battle of asteria will no longer count.

I do hope this guide helps aid you in finding an amazing alliance family, honor, and keeps your members safe in difficult situations when engaging in server wars.

Please view the video below a visual demonstration of how a lord can leave their alliance within infinity kingdom, and to observe how leadership can remove a member.

A kind suggestion:

In supporting our new friends find an active alliance within our infinity kingdom family helps ensure the game remains alive and continued membership. Therefore, I kindly suggest leadership who decide to abandon an alliance and/or their accounts within an alliance, to first send an e-mail explaining to members how they can leave and join a new alliance with perhaps an additional note in an announcement chat. This one small step can make a huge difference.

Alternatively, if you are new to our world, go ahead and say hello in that world chat. Ask if their is an alliance looking for new members to join. You might be amazed who responds and the friendships forge from this simple greeting.
