Battle of the Narrow Sea

Sailing to the West

The brightness of a new day was blinding me while the sun was peeking through with an incandescent glow as it hit and reflected against the waves. As I drank the last sip of wine I had left from the night, I knew that the silence of months of being shipwrecked in those calm waters would come to an end, they say that when there is too much calm is because a storm is coming and perhaps I should take into account that feeling I had after having received through the raven another of those letters that only presaged bad news or warnings of dangers ... In it he said :

My Lord,

Lady Daenerys has ordered us to prepare the supplies and once we are done, all troops will set sail for Westeros immediately.

.

So right then and there my commander gave the order to hoist the sails, gather all the supplies we could...not without taking a few cases of wine for the road.... and set sail for Westeros!

As we sailed at full speed, we received yet another letter telling us that Daeron was on his way there to assess the situation by following and relying on the lighthouses for safety.

...the voice of my conscience echoed strongly reminding me that last time in the lighthouses were stationed many of the iron men with whom we had to fight some time ago...but well, maybe it was just a conscious fear that something similar would happen again.

Already almost arriving we were given the first mission to occupy the lighthouse of Lorath, defeat Black Squid and also occupy the lighthouse of Tarth.

But when we arrived...we realized that some Ironborn had already arrived, trying to take all the supplies we found in our path, we fought with them fervently and managed to occupy the lighthouse, although Black Squid appeared in the fog that covered the area of the lighthouses and began to attack all those who were around sending his entire fleet of Ironborn against us.

Between the screeching of banging bows, the swell that made us sway from side to side, the wine that rose and fell from my head to my feet and from my feet to my head and I no longer understood the reasons I began to swing my sword to all sides and shouting non-stop trying to defend my crew from those ironborn who had jumped to assault our ships and it seemed to have an effect...because when they saw me disjointed the few who remained fled in terror leaving only trails in the sea.

I immediately took courage, took another sip of mulled wine and went with all my might to where Black Squid was, we fought hard again and again but there were few Ironborn left to come to his defense so he began to weaken both from fear and the impotence of being alone among so many drunks.

We were able to stay with the lighthouse of Lorath and the lighthouse of Tarth.

We now had to prepare for the second mission, which was to occupy the Massey Hook Lighthouse and defeat the Ironborn Chief.

We follow the fleet led by Daenerys Targaryen, also called Daenerys of the Storm, of House Targaryen. The first of her name, the one who does not burn, queen of Meereen, queen of the Andals, the Thoynar and the first men, Khaleesi of the Great Sea of Grass, breaker of chains and mother of dragons across the Narrow Sea...

Already primed for victory at the previous two lighthouses and with Black Squid, I continued on to the designated target, advancing with the dragons towards the Massey Hook lighthouse...let's fight! - shouted Daeron

We followed him and the place was full of Ironborn stationed there...I tried to take all the supplies available in the meantime to gain time but I had no luck and I couldn't get what I needed! I searched so hard that I started to run out of supplies to continue on my way.

I had to wait to recover and go for the Ironchief…

but when I returned, many of my comrades had already taken it with them, telling me about their exploits.

Exhausted from so much travel and unable to get enough supplies, I headed with Daeron and the others towards the lighthouse of Qohor...

There I began to recover little by little, I got strength and many supplies to be able to face the Euron Guard that were there and I managed to occupy the Lighthouse at the end.

The Euron Guard ships quickly caught up with us and tried to board, but we were not deterred, fighting to the teeth, wielding spears and swords against the infamous Ironborn soldiers.

Finally, despite our best efforts, it was clear that we were at a disadvantage, it was late and we were exhausted, a quick retreat was in order.

We cut the ropes, pushed the ramps and threw overboard the Ironboards that had attempted to assault us before quickly leaving the scene.

Some of them tried to chase us, but thanks to our captain's quick wit and navigational experience, we managed to escape them and got lost in a thick fog to continue on to the next journey.

We were satisfied with what we had achieved, there was still an important leg to go which was to defeat the dreaded Euron but occupying the beacons and watching the Ironborn flee was just great!!!!

I sat and watched the sunset while I rested until the next order and drank to the well-deserved victory with a good jug of wine.

A good wine is like a good anecdote: it lasts for a moment and leaves a taste of glory in your mouth; it is new with every sip and, as in every anecdote, it is born and reborn with every sip.
