Steel Against Fate - Arena of Honor Season 5 Round 3

After a not as well as expected start of the season for [N0X] Shado and the team, with a 2nd place in the first round and a 3rd place in the 2nd round of Arena of Honor's Season 5, it's more or less mandatory for them to get a win in the third round if they want to maintain any chance of getting to the Glory King rank. With that in mind, everyone prepared as good as they possibly could and new strategies were made in the 2 weeks between the rounds, to make sure they won't encounter any technical difficulties like they did in the 2nd round. With everything set and done, it was time for them to move towards Arena of Honor battlefield as it was already Sunday late evening and the time for them to register for another round. Once everyone was there, the team got registered and they waited for the matchmaking to be concluded by the Old Gods.

With the matchmaking done, it was now time for everyone to step on the battlefield and see for which house they'll fight this time. Shado's team was chosen by Arya Stark to fight for the House Stark this round and together, they moved towards the frozen north where the House Starks Clan Castle is located. Once they arrived there, everyone started setting their camps and a quick battlefield swoop was made to see whom they are up against today (please no more [NBe] main team, ok? ok)

First reaction when they noticed the reports was yayy no more [NBe] but then their voice tone quickly changed as they noticed both the teams they'd face today are once again really strong, with the Targaryen's having a powerful [RoD] team led by Lord Shorty and Fabco and the Lannister's having a very strong [NBe] team led by EliaMartell and CrimsonMage. But Shado's team wasn't shy of very strong people either so this round was announcing to be one that will remain in history. The battle started quickly after with the opening of strongholds and everyone rushed to occupy them as quickly as possible.

In an attempt to conquer another Clan Castle, the team decided to go with military camps once again and this time their plan worked, the first NPC attack secured the House Greyjoy's Clan Castle and the team started occupying and constructing the altars there too. The strongholds finished upgrading just in time as the altars were about to open and the fight for them it's going to require all the troops of all the team members. As expected on such a high-stake battlefield, most of the important altars were taken with reinforcements or rallies and Shado did his best to support his team-mates as good as possible in order to secure as many altars as possible. The strategy worked very well and after 20 minutes of constant fighting for the battlefield domination, the team was almost neck in neck with the House Targaryen's team.

With the altars secured for now, as they were approaching the middle of fight, it was time for the City of Glory to drop the bubble and open for attacks.

The fight for the city opened as expected with waves of solos between the strongest warriors on the battlefield, the city kept swapping hands so quickly you would've thought it's a game of tag not Game of Thrones. Finally, after a few minutes, Lord Shorty managed to somehow last enough for his team members to reinforce and now the fight moved from solos to rallies. MAKIMA and Grombold took the flag for House Stark, and they quickly organized their rallies, while for House Lannister it was CrimsonMage and valianherve that decided to challenge Lord Shorty.

The rallies were filled withing seconds and they started marching quickly towards the city and once they arrived, they started hitting in a quick succession as every second was important.

The battle that followed was very bloody with millions of troops falling on both the attackers and the defenders, but the Grombold/MAKIMA duo is well known in Westeros and both of their rallies won so the House Stark got in the city control and they were preparing the defenses. And defense they had to do as the other 2 houses teamed up and tried to time their rallies in such a way that it won't give any opportunity for the Starks to heal their troops and send the reinforcements back in. Their strategy worked quite fine and after a few minutes of constant fighting, the city swapped hands once again. Starks went back on the offensive, and it didn't take them long to recover the city once again

And then the defense resumed and the back and forward battle continued for most of the fight left with Starks gaining terrain every time they were able to get the City of Glory. Ultimately, after millions and millions of troops died, the other 2 houses had to stop rallying as their medics didn't manage to keep up with the loses, they were taking on the battlefield and with 5 minutes before the end of the fight, the Starks managed to claim the ownership of City of Glory.

This concluded the team's first win of the season and what a win, probably the best round Shado had since a while now. He couldn't be happier with the 42 fame points and all the rewards he got for finishing on first place and now he's going back to the [N0X] castle with big plans for the upcoming rounds. Will he be able to match his plans or there will be teams that will beat his adventurous spirit into the ground? We'll have to wait and see. See you all on the battlefield!
