questions from new player

Hi!

Wanted to ask a few questions. This dragon event doesn’t seem to be counting points from training nor did it collect points from yesterday’s resource collection. Also, is this pack worth it? If it is, who should I pull from the pack? (I have no idea what to build like archer, cav, infantry, or spear).

Also are there any must buy packs or packs one would recommend me to get? I’m a light spender, a few here, 5 here, occasionally a 10. Not heavy though. Also, for research or construction heroes, do they need to be on wall to get the benefits? Thanks for advice.
