First of all, let me say that I’ve been playing this game since year 1. And yes, I’m fully aware that it’s those big spenders that mostly keep it alive, because that’s where the money’s coming from to pay developers.

However, over the last couple of years, imbalance between mid-tier players and big spenders has tremendously increased, up to a point where it makes PvP almost unplayable.

What exactly am I talking about?

Years ago, even big spenders would need a rally to deal with a mid-tier account most of the time. Single hits that would cause abyssmal damage were next-to impossible. Today, even when using counter troop-types a mid-tier player will just get shredded by a big spender in one single attack.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind a big spender winning against me with a single hit. But the amount of damage done versus the amount of damage taken is just so much over the top these days, there are not even any appropriate words to describe it.

It already started to become borderline with the introduction of Night King. With more and more legendary commanders available PvP has simply detoriated into a slaughtering feast for big spenders.

Sure, low- and mid-tier players received the possibility to obtain Extraordinary and Legendary Commanders, too, through various events. In the beginning that was a really great and welcome boost. Getting Extraordinary Commanders as a free-to-play account was awesome. By now, the difference towards big spenders is completely negligible. And getting a Legendary Commander to 4 stars to actually make it useful will take a free-to-play account approximately 2-3 years even with optimized capitalization on event rewards. Even with 1 Legendary Commander at 4 stars, you’re still nothing but food for a big spender.

Of course one tries to avoid running into any of these monster accounts wherever possible. Or one could play zero castle. But can that really be the answer to such an imbalanced gameplay?

Imagine a kingdom (or true PvP event) where only free-to-play or mid-tier accounts can play against one another without any possibility of big spenders interfering. Unfortunately, these days are long gone. And it’s getting worse by the day. The game is moving ever closer to a state where it’s either staying bubbled indefinitely or spending big time. Might as well play a farm game instead then.

Moderators, no need to give me the usual „We will forward your feedback to the Old Gods“ reply. It might be well intended, but we all know things are not going to change anyway.

I don’t mind these big spenders dominating the game. However, the imbalance gap has become so huge over the last couple of years that it will ultimately kill the game. Not today and maybe not tomorrow, but we’re heading straight in that direction. Such a shame really, as there would surely be more than enough possibilities to also keep PvP playable in a more or less balanced manner for other players.
