What’s up, folks? With so many new events and patches, coupled with lots of community chatter, it’s sometimes difficult to keep up. Welcome to my weekly edition of Player’s Digest, where I’ll take a look at some of the recent happenings, summarize them in a digestible way, provide some context and thoughts, and help readers keep up with all things related to Infinity Kingdom.

Summary

💠Illusion Battlefield League

The semifinals of the Illusion Battlefield League started with only two servers represented and four alliances remaining. Servers 38 and 73 each had one team on each side of the bracket. Both servers agreed to prioritize KvK and forfeited one semifinal match apiece. On the left side CUBS did not register a roster, so AoW advanced by default. On the right side Ascendants of Asgard likewise did not register and BUNS advanced by default. The grand final between AoW and BUNS is scheduled for 12:00 UTC, while Ascendants of Asgard and CUBS will meet in the third place match at 9:00 UTC. As defending champions, AoW are the favorites to win. Tune in for the final weekend of the IBL tournament.

💠Legion of Frostborne

Zone 3 gates opened this week, kicking off the final week of the Legion of Frostborne event, and Ember delivered a decisive performance as the event reached its climax. Ember, made up of servers 38, 56, 73, 170, and 209, pushed Hydro, comprised of servers 136 and 231, out of Zone 2 and left several Hydro players isolated inside locked quadrants. Hydro mounted a last-ditch effort to reclaim the bottom-left quadrant, dismantling Ember towers at the gate and attempting to erect their own, but Ember repeatedly destroyed those builds before they could take hold. Ember exploited Hydro downtime to restack and reinforce critical gates, and they even stacked and built towers at the two Zone 3 gates Hydro could access, effectively locking Hydro out of the final zone. With the event wrapping up, Server 38 will claim Ymir while Servers 56, 73, and 209 each secure a Citadel. In projected alliance reputation standings, Server 136 will likely finish first, Server 38 second, and Server 73 third, with the remaining servers filling positions four through eight. With rewards and final placements decided this week, Ember’s control looks decisive as the Legion of Frostborne comes to a close.

💠Patch 2.8.8 Notes

Patch 2.8.8 is scheduled for Thursday, October 16. This is a major update that raises the castle level cap to 60 and unlocks expanded progression across the endgame. The cap increase enables higher levels for dragons, immortals, barracks, technologies, and skills, and brings new equipment along with Energy Cores, which are required to advance your castle and craft next tier items. A new Elemental Domain Event runs on rotating elemental days, requiring players to use specific elements to gather exclusive forging materials. The KvK system will evolve into a Legendary Season following Conquest Servers, while Legion of Frostborne switches from a server based format to an alliance based format and will require alliances to register. Patch 2.8.8 also adds a new Legendary Skill called Fully Prepared that increases damage dealt and reduces damage taken after each normal attack. Finally, expect several migration eligibility updates and a range of optimizations and quality of life improvements aimed at smoothing late game play and reshaping endgame competition.

The IBL semifinals were set, with AoW and BUNS advancing by default and preparing for next week’s finals.
