💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? With Patch 2.8.3, Chaos Roulette returned with a revamped prize pool. Let’s take a closer look at the event, its past iterations, and what the new update entails. The change in the rewards also affected the value of the event, so we’ll also compare the difference and what type of player this change benefits.

💠Differences
The first iteration of Chaos Roulette saw players needing to use 25 Eye of Chaos to draw six immortal fragments and four exclusive artifact shards. In the second version, the roulette was changed to allow players to choose their desired immortal without spending ten Gems to refresh it. In that patch, the chances of getting fragments and shards were no longer fixed nor required 25 Eye of Chaos. Players could get fragments and shards as early as their first five pulls and those items aren’t removed from the pool. In its third iteration, players can now choose whether they want an immortal or an exclusive artifact on the wheel. Every wheel already has one slot dedicated to a set of four artifact shards. Selecting an exclusive artifact will replace the immortal fragment slot, giving players two chances to get five artifact shards per draw instead of four. Now, Chaos Roulette has 12 slots of rewards. Prior to the patch, the most recent version of the event had two Fate of Chaos Selection Chest I, which contained Athena, Loki, Poseidon, and Wukong, instead of two specific immortal fragments that are present in the latest version. The other ten slots stayed the same. One slot has six specific immortal fragments, one contains four specific Exclusive Artifact fragments, two contain one Chaos Artifact Schematic Fragment Selection Chest, which also only contains the artifacts of the four aforementioned immortals, one has Philosopher’s Offer, and the last five consists of various resources.

💠Differences in Practice
Players can purchase 6, 12, 24, 36, and 72 Eye of Chaos for $4.99, $9.99, $19.99, $49.99, and $99.99 up to 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 times daily. The value of the first three packs is the same at about $0.83 per eye. There are also GTArcade bundles that give more eyes for the same price, but you will get fewer Gems. In 2,500 attempts in the newest version, I pulled 775 Anubis fragments, 260 of his Exclusive Artifact fragments, 200 Chaos Artifact Selection Chests, and 305 Philosopher’s Offers. That comes out to be about 155 fragments, 52 artifact fragments, 40 artifact chests, and 61 Philosopher’s Offers for every 500 pulls. Of course, you also get the 80 Fate of Selection Chaos Chests for using 500 Eye of Chaos. In version 4, I averaged about 126 immortal fragments, 33 Chaos Immortal Selection Chests, 40 artifact chests, and 64 artifact fragments. In the very first version, I averaged about 200 immortal fragments and fewer artifacts.

💠Comparative Value
If you average 155 immortal fragments as I did, it will take you 11 weeks and wheels to complete the immortal and unlock its Exclusive Artifact slot. To complete its artifact, it would take about 18 wheels. With the immortal specializations taking over 3,000 additional immortal fragments and as expensive as Eye of Chaos is, it should really provide more immortal fragments. If you only do 500 pulls per week, it would take you more than 22 weeks to complete the specialization tree and all of those extra Exclusive Artifact fragments are useless and wasted. It costs about $420 per week for 500 rolls if you only purchase the first three bundles. That comes out to be about $2.71 per immortal fragment. The difference in cost between the iteration that gave 200 immortal fragments and the current version is nearly $150!

💠Summary
In conclusion, the number of immortal fragments went up from the last version, but it still pales in comparison to the best version of the event. You get fewer Exclusive Artifacts, but those are almost negligible when you have to play Chaos Roulette so many times to finish an immortal.
