🔷 Introduction
Welcome to part 19 of my Wukong series. We are following three famous fire immortals and their ally Wukong, who is currently training in the arts of fire. They have had a tough journey as of late, and their adventure is only going to get harder.

Wu, Seondeok, Hippolyta, and Wukong successfully defeat a massive flame worm threatening a village, using coordinated attacks and a powerful explosive arrow to bring it down. After their victory, they are rewarded with gold and depart for their next adventure, confident in their strength and unity.
🔷 Part 19: “Bounty Hunting”
After their triumph over the flame worm, Wu, Seondeok, Hippolyta, and Wukong found themselves with an unexpected windfall: a massive coin purse handed to them by the grateful villagers. The weight of it, clinking with gold, was a tangible reminder of their success, and as they split the bounty four ways, a mischievous grin spread across their faces. It wasn’t just the gold that thrilled them, though—it was the thrill of the hunt, the camaraderie, and the sense of purpose they had found together. For the first time in a long while, each of them felt a stirring of something deeper, a connection that was stronger than mere friendship. They realized that bounty hunting had become more than a job—it had become a lifestyle, one they eagerly embraced.
Their days quickly became filled with hunts, each more exciting than the last. Word of their successes spread across the land, and with it, the bounty requests came flooding in. The group set out on their spree, hunting everything from dangerous beasts to corrupt officials. They moved like a well-oiled machine, their attacks seamless, each member knowing their role without needing to speak. The money flowed in as quickly as the danger, but the true joy for them was the thrill of the hunt, the challenge of defeating an opponent far stronger than themselves, and the thrill of victory. Still, the gold didn’t hurt. They always split the loot evenly, ensuring that no matter how much they earned, their bond remained unshaken.
Their first big target was a steam engine boss—a massive mechanical monstrosity that had terrorized a nearby town. Built from rusted steel and powered by a furnace heart, it rumbled through the countryside, crushing anything in its path. The team’s strategy was quick and decisive, with Seondeok using her agility to stay out of the machine’s devastating range while Wukong and Wu hacked at its massive legs, slowly disabling its movement. Hippolyta, ever the powerhouse, took on the engine’s primary cannon, battering it with her sword until it sparked and short-circuited. With one final blow, the mechanical beast fell, its gears grinding to a halt. The coin purse they earned from that bounty was more than enough to fuel their next venture.
Next came a giant metal scorpion, a creation of dark alchemy, rampaging through a city’s outskirts. Its claws were sharp enough to cut through stone, and its tail could poison with a single strike. The fight was fierce, but the group was ready. Wu darted in, using her speed to evade the creature's strikes while Wukong used his staff to batter the scorpion’s legs. Seondeok’s arrows found the gaps in its armor, slowly weakening it, and Hippolyta, with her sword gleaming under the sun, delivered the final strike to the scorpion’s heart, severing its life force. Another massive bounty was theirs, and they couldn’t help but feel the rush of victory as they watched the creature collapse.
With each victory, their bond grew stronger, and so did their appetite for more. They reveled in their shared success, the friendship that had blossomed since Wukong’s recovery becoming something more—something irreplaceable. They knew that no matter the size of the threat, as long as they stood together, they could take anything on. And so, the next bounty came—this time, something darker, more ominous.
A dark mage, rumored to have stolen forbidden knowledge and conjured an army of shadow creatures, had placed a bounty on his head. But the details were scarce, and no one seemed to know exactly where the mage was or what powers he wielded. The threat felt different—shadowy, unknown, and unsettling. Still, the team, ever confident in their growing strength, decided to pursue it. They gathered their gear, prepared for whatever lay ahead, but a sense of caution lingered in the air. There was something about this bounty that didn’t sit quite right with them, and though they were excited by the prospect of another challenge, a quiet sense of wariness tugged at their hearts.
As they stood together, looking out toward the distant horizon where their next challenge awaited, they shared a glance, a silent understanding passing between them. Whatever this dark mage was, they would face it as they always had—together. The unknown didn’t scare them; it only made the hunt more thrilling. And so, with their bonds stronger than ever, they set off, ready for the next adventure, but unsure of what dangers the mage might hold.
The final destination was set. The shadows of the dark mage loomed ahead, but the four friends walked into it without hesitation, knowing that whatever lay in store, they were stronger together.

They have found their purpose together as bounty hunters, at least in the short term. They have grown together, and it has led to something fun and exciting for them. Let's hope this continues for our heroes because there is bad feeling about the new dark mage.
