Introduction to Lifesteal
Imagine your Immortal striking an enemy and regaining health with each blow—that's the power of Lifesteal. In Infinity Kingdom, Lifesteal allows an Immortal to heal based on the damage they deal, making it a powerful attribute for staying in combat longer. This guide will walk you through Lifesteal mechanics, the Immortals and skills that maximise it, and which artifacts to focus on for the best results. With this knowledge, you can forge a resilient march.
Consideration: After reading this guide, which of your Immortals could benefit most from Lifesteal? How might this mechanic help you extend their survivability in battle?
Understanding Lifesteal Mechanics
"Imagine turning every attack into an opportunity to heal—that's Lifesteal at its core."
Mechanics of Lifesteal
Lifesteal is a percentage-based attribute that allows an Immortal to recover health each time they deal damage. The higher the Lifesteal percentage, the more health the Immortal regains with every hit. Lifesteal is most effective for Immortals who deal frequent or large amounts of damage, allowing them to sustain longer and often eliminating the need for frequent healing support. However, it is wise to remember that Lifesteal is fickle and often does not perform on command. You have to take the ebb and flow of Lifesteal when deciding to invest in a skill, immortal or artifact that has this attibute.
Example Scenario
Suppose your Holy Immortal, Manco Capac, has a 15% Lifesteal attribute. When he deals 500 damage with his Ultimate skill, Sun Flare, he regains 75 health (15% of 500) with that hit alone. Over multiple attacks, Lifesteal can lead to significant health recovery, especially for high-damage units or those on the frontlines.
Reflection: Which of your high-damage Immortals would benefit most from Lifesteal? Could this attribute help them survive longer in intense battles?
Immortals with Lifesteal-Related Ultimate Skills
"Which Immortals come equipped with Lifesteal, allowing them to sustain longer without the need for constant healing?"
Several Immortals in Infinity Kingdom have Lifesteal directly embedded in their Ultimate skills. Here are a few examples:
1. Manco Capac (Holy) – His Ultimate skill, Sun Flare, deals damage and provides a Lifesteal effect, making him a great choice for sustained self-healing.
2. Harald III (Water) – His skill Glacial Incusion grants a Lifesteal effect, allowing Harald to regain health with each strike, making him highly durable on the frontlines.
3. Genghis Khan (Lightning) – With his Ultimate skill Arrow Storm, Genghis Khan deals damage to enemies and receives Lifesteal. Long live Khans troops, their survivability as a frontline DPS, has improved.
A cautionary note; Lifesteal will not always be around to offer assistance. Make sure to have a backup plan. But what will this backup plan be? Well, this is up to my Lords and Ladies of Norheim to ponder on. Time to develop your strategies to cover various scenarios.
These Immortals can take advantage of Lifesteal to stay in combat longer, especially when paired with high-damage teammates who can further benefit from their healing effects. The added benefits of ToK and artifacts with this attribute, the effects of Lifesteal become stacked
Ask Yourself: Do you have any of these Immortals on your team? How would Lifesteal complement their role in battle? How will you implement any changes?
As I know to my cost, devising the wrong strategy early game is expensive in time and money. To unravel costly mistakes is like finding the centre of a maze blindfolded. But, it is all part of the game, learning and improving.
Skills with Lifesteal Attributes in Tower of Knowledge (ToK)
"Imagine enhancing your Immortals with Lifesteal-focused skills from the Tower of Knowledge for increased survivability."
There are some skills, in (ToK) that provide additional Lifesteal effects. Allowing you to extend this attribute to a wider range of Immortals. Teaming up a Tok skill whose attribute is Lifesteal with an Immortal whose Ultimate skill uses Lifesteal can be significant. Here are a few key Lifesteal skills worth investing in:
1. Life Link – This ToK skill allows an Immortal to heal based on a percentage of the damage dealt. It is highly effective on high-damage Immortals, enhancing their durability while they dish out damage. Teaming up a Tok skill whose attribute is Lifesteal with an Immortal whose Ultimate skill uses Lifesteal can be significant.
2. Vitality Touch- An Epic Triggered skill from the Tower of Knowledge. This skill allows an Immortal to heal a portion of their troops based on the damage dealt. In essence, causing a Lifesteal. It is particularly effective when equipped with heroes like Theodora, Zenobia, or defence-oriented immortals who can reliably maintain high troop counts, such as Charles or Tokugawa.
These Lifesteal-boosting skills can turn high-damage Immortals like Cleopatra or Gilgamesh into highly resilient units, as they combine powerful hits with self-sustaining health recovery.
Consideration: Do you have any Immortals that would benefit from Life Link or Vitality Touch? How would these skills enhance your lineup's longevity in tough battles? Or maybe you could suggest alternative Immortals that could benefit from the mechanics of these skills?
Artifacts for Enhancing Lifesteal
"Looking to enhance Lifesteal even further? The correct artifacts can make a big difference in your Immortal's staying power."
While there may not be artifacts explicitly labelled for Lifesteal, certain artifacts can indirectly support this attribute by enhancing damage output or survivability:
1. Creation Star: This artifact is tailored for melee damage dealers, providing unique attributes such as Iron Fist, which enhances physical damage dealt, and Surge, which accelerates energy regeneration speed. By boosting damage output, it effectively amplifies the benefits of Lifesteal effects, making it a valuable addition to any damage-focused character's arsenal.
2. Pillar of the Temple of Norheim: This artifact is ideal for defensive roles, offering valuable attributes like Guard, which helps reduce physical damage taken, and Growth, which boosts soldiers' HP. While it does not directly provide Lifesteal, it significantly enhances survivability. It allows Immortals to remain in battle, fulfil their potential to benefit from Lifesteal effects and improve overall combat effectiveness.
Examples 1 & 2 are F2P Artifacts and are beneficial Early Game. Once you have decided on which elemental march to focus on you are advised to invest in collected EAs that apply to your march. It is advisable to invest in Alchemy stones, so you will have the means to reborn unwanted artifacts. To release those necessary resources to help build EAs.
3. Vampire Glass: This artifact boosts the percentage of Lifesteal for each hit. It is an EA to Elizabeth Bathory when her Ultimate skill is cast, she will help the lowest HP troop in your march
Early Game Tip: Investing in a Lifesteal-focused artifact can be a wise early-game choice for a high-damage dealing Immortal.
Reflection: Which artifacts could you incorporate into your lineup to maximize Lifesteal? Could these artifacts make your frontline Immortals more durable?
Conclusion: Pros and Cons of Lifesteal in Battle
While Lifesteal offers impressive health recovery, it also has its limitations. Let us weigh the benefits and drawbacks."
Advantages of Lifesteal
- Sustained Survivability: Lifesteal helps your Immortals stay in combat longer by converting damage into health.
- Reduced Reliance on Healing: Units with Lifesteal can sustain themselves, reducing the need for dedicated healers.
- Adaptable to Frontline and DPS: Both tanky and high-damage Immortals can benefit from Lifesteal, giving you more flexibility in team composition.
Drawbacks of Lifesteal
- Dependent on High Damage Output: Lifesteal is only as effective as the damage dealt. Low-damage Immortals may not benefit as much.
- Less Effective Against High Defense: Lifesteal is less impactful against heavily armoured enemies, where lower damage output means less healing.
An example of a PvP battle report, showing all Immortals receiving Lifesteal. The skill Life Link is doing its’ job, by transferring damage received.
Final Thoughts
Lifesteal is a powerful attribute that can keep your Immortals healthy and effective in battle. Choose Immortals with Lifesteal Ultimate skills, select correct ToK skills, and equip complementary artifacts. You cHan turn your team into a self-sustaining force capable of surviving even the toughest fights. Experiment with Lifesteal to determine which Immortals benefit most from it and how it can enhance your strategy.
As with all things, it is through experimenting, trial and error that a synergistic battle plan for your march will present itself. Lifesteal is a small cog in the realms of Norheim. However, it has its' part to play when trying to find the tweaks that will hopefully provide the edge in battle. It would be prudent to remember, that while Lifesteal has many positives, there are also negatives. And it will be these negatives that will form the basis for Part 2 of Understanding How Lifesteal Works. What do you prioritise to create a resilient team? How will this impact your strategy in PvP and PvE battles?
Reflection: Now that you know the mechanics of Lifesteal: which Immortals, skills, and artifacts will focus on and invest your time in?
