A Cost Analysis of Chaos

Magic mage back from Server 243 to bring you a little chaos, but hopefully not too much mayhem. Earlier this week a Lord reached out and asked how much it would cost to purchase a chaos immortal and to build a chaos team. While I have not acquired a full chaos immortal at this time a few of my press officer friends have and I encourage you to look at their content for information regarding the chaos roulette and obtaining the maximum fragments after unlocking the immortal to bestow the artifact. The overall cost for a chaos immortal team does go beyond the cost of acquiring fragments. Once you have acquired your Chaos immortals, you will need to set out to level the immortal up and boost the immortal. This is in addition to obtaining a developable artifact you desire, acquiring armor and gems, and purchasing the right skills for your desired build. 

To evaluate the cost we must first look at how we can obtain chaos immortals outside of the occasional seasonal game rewards.

Chaos immortals are available via the Chaos Roulette wheel. When playing this game you have a chance to obtain 6 fragments every 25 pulls. Additionally, for every 500 eyes spent spinning the wheel you complete the chronicle where you can open the treasure boxes for an additional 80 fragments. This means if when you spin the wheel, worst case scenario being you always pull the fragments on spin 25, you will have a total of 200 fragments after completing the full game.

Myrahk within the IK Wikipedia page has pulled some valuable content together regarding this event when it was first released. Chaos Roulette - Wiki & Tools | Infinity Kingdom (ik-wiki.com). Within his website he had provided a table that provides the following information.

Now we know how many fragments we can obtain each event and the number of fragments required to maximize an immortal, lets look at the packages available. There are 5 bundles an individual can purchase eyes of chaos within our game shop.

Each of three days the event runs, a lord can purchase 5 of each bundle with the exception of the $100 bundle. This means you have a chance of purchasing each bundle a total of 15 times during the event. The $100 bundle you can purchase 297 times.

So now for the real question proposed… how much does it cost to obtain a chaos immortal?

Please know chaos immortals can be obtained if you are free to play through different seasonal events…. However, the time required to obtain the maximum fragments and the artifacts would not be an investment I would recommend for this player.

I will therefore, review three paths to obtain chaos immortals just using the chaos roulette event within infinity kingdom. I will look at the cost for the low spender (someone who spends smaller amounts over longer period of time), medium spender (willing to purchase larger packages but still on a budget), and high spender looking to build this march quickly (cost does not matter). Please know, while I share this information, the costs may vary based on your luck within the wheel. Your costs will also depend upon the number of eyes you already saved from prior event rewards. All costs are presented based on US dollars.

Cost for 500 Eyes:

Using the above chart we can now determine how much money and time is required to max a chaos immortal where we begin with unlocking the immortal and end by unlock their artifact slot obtaining a minimum of 1,640 fragments. The following chart is based on the assumption of receiving 200 fragments every 500 eyes spent. Therefore, we need to play Chaos Roulette around 8 to 9 times to receive the 1,640 fragments (depending on luck). Erring on the side of caution, we will look at the total cost to play 9 times for a single immortal.

To Max a Chaos Immortal/March:

As displayed above, the cost of purchasing a single chaos immortal is a big investment. A full team is an even larger investment. This addition of this special immortal to your team can provide a significant advantage. However, you will want to chose wisely. You will want to consider the tower of knowledge skills this chaos immortal will require, to provide you the greatest return on your investment. You will also want to consider the skills necessary for your marches and other immortals within your team to ensure a good synergy not just with skills but how the immortal’s ultimate skill will enhance your team.
