Game Mechanic : Heavy Lifter

Hi everyone, i’m PO PandaMoratia. In today’s article we will talk about the mechanic behind the Tower of Knowledge (later ToK) skill Heavy lifter.

Heavy Lifter is a Premium skill currently available in the Open Arena and should be eventually available in Triss Blessing Event and unlockable at ToK level 52.

Mechanic : 

Everytime your Immortal will use his ultimate skill, you have a 50% chance to damage the entire enemy team. Immortals with high energy regen such as Wu are the best choice due to the high rate at which they will use their ultimate skill. Despite the No limit on who can use this skill, it is designed to be used by Mage who aren’t really known to have a high energy regen, aside from a few exceptions like Wu, Cleopatra and Loki. When it triggers, the skill will reduce by 50% the attack speed of enemy immortal which can be good.

Synergy : 

The synergy around this skill is as simple as its mechanic, there are currently 2 ways to increase the energy regen of immortals on a long run. First one is the premium skill Battle Stance which will work very well with this skill. The second one is the Immortal Matilda who also has a very good synergy with Heavy Lifter.

Damage comparison : 

To understand how the skill performs compared to the other Magical Damage dealing skill in the game currently. We need to determine how often Heavy Lifter needs to be triggered to match the same damage as the skill on the left. From there we can extrapolate the Energy Regen required to trigger it at the right frequency.

The higher the energy regen the better but you need to have at least the one displayed to make Heavy Lifter a better option. 

As you can see only Wu can make this skill very competitive without putting into play further synergy to increase your energy regen like Corrosive Power, Energy Burst or Adrenaline Rush (the last one not being good on Mage).

Conclusion : 

This is a very difficult skill to leverage to its full potential. You need to turn your team around it to really hope to get a high amount of damage out of it. And with only a 50% chance to trigger for a Blessing of Triss skill, it’s not the most sexy. The Attack Speed damage reduction is not enough to really make this skill appealing, it is way too situational and unreliable. A niche counter skill that is.
