[City and Capital Exploration] – A close look at Vigorous Silvanus; a former Capital of Vitas, within the game Infinity Kingdom

Come join me as we journey across Norheim and explore the 87 occupiable cities (excluding the Frozen Realm), spanning across 9 provinces within Norheim. We will look closely at the individual riches and rewards offered to the occupying alliance. While we will review the resource zone, individual city tax, and boost each city supplies the occupier, we will also delve into the origins of the names behind each city and possible connections to the game itself. We will begin our [City and Capital Exploration] series with the former capital of the Vitas Kingdom, Vigorous Silvanus. To occupy this capital, Lords within the alliance will want to position themselves in a windmill formation. The Capital is situated south of the Forbidden Zone, at: X:566 Y:597. We will begin with a brief high-level overview of this Capital. 

Bordered by desert to the west, the flowing waters of the Snake River in the northern top left of the land south of Stela of the New World, has ensured Vigorous Silvanus remained fertile and rich in resources. Crowned King in his mother’s hometown in 1483, Lousi assumed leadership over this kingdom ruling under the common creed of life and peace for all receivers a reasonable faithful expression in the city.

Vigorous Silvanus is a Provincial Capital. To occupy the capital, you must first occupy a city in the same Province. Provincial Capitals are very important cities in a province, because the Alliance Leader can appoint a member as governor to this capital once occupied.

The governor of the Capital Vigorous Silvanus will see a 5% decrease in damage done to their spearmen. This bonus can be extremely valuable to a lord whose main march contains a spearmen immortal such as Peter in a lightening march. The decrease in damage can help this lord in events including but not limited to killing gnomes, the arena, and contention of lords. 

Furthermore, as governor, this chosen lord can bestow additional bonuses for members within the alliance, IF their castle is located within the territory of the capital. The Governor can issue one of three orders; War tax, Quick Repair, and Hold All territory. Once an order has been issued and times out, there is a cooldown time before a new order can be issued again.  

• War tax: A beneficial order that aids lords in precuring resources. It will allow lord’s farms to produce resources more quickly.
• Quik Repair: When located in the territory of the issued order, the bloody rage to decrease 50% (therefore, the rage will last 5 minutes vs. the standard 10 minutes).
• Hold All Territory: When activated the time remaining for a lord’s shield (bubble) is increased 50%.

Lastly, the Governor has the very important role of assigning members official positions. Once a Lord is granted an official position, they are provided additional boost in one of following five categories. 

I was able to locate all this information in relation to the capital within the game.

However, the developers have built within the layers of the game, hidden meanings if one looks closely enough. It is here, players have the opportunity to let their inner geek shine through and become excited in the way young kids become when they begin to understand the significance of their birthdays.

On our journey through Norheim within this series, I promise to go one step further, into the origins of the Capital’s and City name. I will look at the connections I have discovered within the name bestowed upon them, and the connection to what our kingdom has to offer.

As we look at the Capital Vigorous Silvanus, located in the Kingdom of Vitas within the region of Azcatl.

Azcatl (ATZ-kah-tl, Nahua) was a mighty red “ant” destined for greatness. The origins of this word can trace roots back to Aztec Mythology and a Nahuatl legend. According to the Aztecs, this ant discovered the source of Maize (corn). during his daily routine to gather food, Azcatl was spied by none other than Quetzacoatl, "The Feathered Serpent," and subsequent creator of the "new humans" just created. Azcatl shared the location of the maze with the serpent and together they brought the food to young gods to eat. The food was a source of energy. And from the seeds collected and stored, this small red ant was able to ensure the continued survival of the human race.

Now, Azcatl is part of the kingdom Vitas. A kingdom that respects all life friend and foe alike. They rescue countless wounded soldiers on the battle field. In looking at the story of Azcatl, it is clear the origins of his tail align with the kingdom Vitas. While small he gave up the location of his food to help the many even those who might destroy him in their mighty size and together, they were able to foster life from growing food anew.  The Nahuatl legend in Mexico, while similar also has some slight differences. This too is an origins story of the Mexico people. Their story enchants the audience with tells of an ant the size of three jaguars who is a defender of the people and protects by confounding their enemies through hypnosis. This tale also talking about defending noble people have close rotes to the philosophy and way those of the Vitas kingdom lives life, with Nature and Dignity. 

Delving deeper, Silvanus also seen as Sylvanus is a roman god of the country side. He is described as God depicted in the guise of a countryman who is a helper of plowmen and woodcutters.

Vigorous means strong, health, and full of energy.

As such the Capital: Vigorous Silvanus has ties into a helpful god who aids plowmen and wood cutters and bringing strength, health, and energy. The etiology of this capital’s name in part is the epitome of the tale of Azcatl with strong roots to the Kingdom Vitas. It is clearly evident why the former capital of Vitas was chosen by the developers to exist within the realm of Azcatl.
