Hi, everyone. Today, we've brought to you Awakened Thanatos' training guide, which will introduce and analyze his skill set, lineup allocation, and Galactic Duel battle strategies. We hope that it will help you fully grasp the mechanics of Thanatos!

Awakened Thanatos is an outstanding damage dealer who excels at both attack and defense.
Once awakened, regardless of which role he takes—be it a damage dealer equipped with ATK Cosmos or a support Saint with survival-driven Cosmos—his high damage multiplier and survivability will turn him into the best supplementary damage dealer and an asset to the lineup.
When casting Final Might and Gaze of Death, Thanatos is able to remove the control effects on himself. Upon his awakening, he gains high Life Steal and Reflect DMG Resistance; as Gaze of Death evolves, he will be able to mark two targets at once, subsequently boosting his flexibility and survivability. Keep reading for more details.
Thanatos - Skill Configuration
<1125>: Low; Awakened Thanatos is capable of dealing great damage. He also possesses high Life Steal, Reflect DMG Resistance, and DMG Reduction buff. This setup mainly focuses on leveling up Gaze of Death and effectively limits enemy Saints who make extra moves within a round. It is perfect for the support role.
<1155>: Medium; when Final Might is maxed, Anger and Shatter will maximize the damage he deals. This setup is perfect for Thanatos as a supplementary damage dealer or a support Saint. It is recommended for both roles.
<1455>: High; this is the most cost-efficient setup. Terrifying Fate will trigger Final Might to deal damage depending on the amount of Anger at the time (the deaths of allies will increase Anger as well as the damage it deals).
Terrifying Fate includes 5 instances of attack, which makes it effective against Shields or damage immunity that can block or bypass multiple attacks. Thanatos is capable of engaging in normal combat or finishing off the enemies in the late game with efficiency. This setup is recommended for both damage dealer and support roles.
<5555>: Max; if players have an abundance of Skill Tomes in hand, they may max his basic attack skill and Skill 2. This allows Thanatos to accumulate Anger quickly and increase skill damage, keeping the enemies' HP low to get an edge in the battle. It's best suited for both damage dealer and support roles.
Thanatos - Recommended Cosmos
1. White Mist + Fruits of Strife + Dual Defense + Fuchsia
This set of Cosmos is made for Thanatos in the support role, focusing on boosting his DEF, DMG Resistance, and HP. It ensures his capability to deal high damage while possessing adequate survivability. It also relies on triggering Final Might to disable the Cosmos' special effect and lowering the enemies' P.DEF and C.DEF.

2. Branches + Naga Pearls + Morning Glory + Double-Horned Snake (or Fuchsia)
This set of Cosmos is made for Thanatos as a damage dealer. Its high DEF, DMG Resistance, and Pierce allows him to deal substantial damage and maintain adequate survivability. It also helps him control the situation on the battlefield by dealing greater damage.

Sub-attribute Selection
Solar: White Mist, Branches (Speed > HP Multiplier = DEF)
Lunar: Dual Defense, Morning Glory (Speed > HP Multiplier = DEF)
Star: Fruits of Strife, Naga Pearls (Life Steal > DEF > HP Multiplier)
Legendary: Fuchsia, Double-Horned Snake (Speed > Life Steal > HP Multiplier)
Thanatos - Skill Analysis
Core Passive
Thanatos' special abilities include accumulating Anger, shattering Cosmos, and removing control effects.
Source of Anger: Anger can be acquired through Thanatos' basic attack (Divine Punishment) and Skill 2 (Terrifying Fate), as well as when he and his allies are attacked. With each attacked ally unit, 5 Anger will be added.
Divine Punishment - Basic Attack
The skill will mark the enemy and add Anger when dealing damage to them. After a certain number of moves, it will trigger Gaze of Death.
Terrifying Fate - Active
Players are recommended to level up the skill to Level 4 or 5. Alternately, they may choose not to level up this skill.
This skill has 5 instances of attack, which makes it effective against Shields or DMG immunity effect that can block or bypass multiple attacks. It gives Thanatos a greater advantage in situations where players and their opponents have more or less the same levels of experience. If players are at a disadvantage, they have a greater chance to turn the tide.
Final Might - Passive
It is Thanatos' core passive skill as well as his primary source of damage.
When Thanatos' Anger is maxed, he will spend it all to cast Final Might, dealing true damage to the enemy and inflicting the Shatter effect. If he is under any control effect at the time, it will be removed.
Shatter Effect: It reduces the enemy's P.DEF and C.DEF by 7% each, as well as disables the additional effect of Legendary Cosmos for 1 action round.
Gaze of Death - Passive - Awakened Skill
Once awakened, Thanatos' core passive skill will provide additional Life Steal and Reflect DMG Resistance. The first two targets of his first attack will be targeted (Gaze of Death triggered by Final Might will be cast according to the speed queue of the enemy's lineup. If the enemy target with the highest Speed is affected by a Speed reduction debuff and becomes the second-highest, Gaze of Death will only mark the first target on the speed queue). After a certain amount of moves, if the target survives, Thanatos will deal great damage to said unit.
Each time the target marked by Gaze of Death takes action, Thanatos will gain 15 Anger. Once his Anger exceeds 40, the damage dealt by Gaze of Death will increase by 50%; with each subsequent Final Might, true damage will increase by 50%.
Thanatos - Recommended Lineups
1. Athena, Surplice Gemini Saga, Thanatos, Cancer Manigoldo, Divine Cloth Taurus Aldebaran, Oneiros
This lineup is an ATK lineup. Athena the Goddess of War and Wisdom generates Energy. Surplice Saga creates a dimension. Thanatos launches basic attack to mark the damage dealers or powerful support Saints in the enemy lineup. Manigoldo casts Praesepe Underworld Waves. Divine Taurus strikes the enemy damage dealer or support Saint. If there is sufficient Energy, Oneiros shall mark the damage dealer in the enemy lineup to limit the damage they deal. If there isn't, he can simply launch basic attacks.
In the second round, Surplice Saga launches basic attack. Thanatos either does the same or casts Skill 2 to increase Anger and deal damage in order to trigger Final Might sooner. Manigoldo casts Praesepe Soul Burial Waves to trigger damage and heal his allies, placing themselves in a more advantageous situation.
2. Goddess Sasha, Ophiuchus Odysseus, Thanatos, Divine Cloth Taurus Aldebaran, Pisces Albafica, Persephone
This is a survival-driven lineup that excels at both attack and defense. Sasha provides DMG Reduction with high P.DEF and C.DEF buffs. Ophiuchus increases DMG Resistance. Divine Taurus and Persephone bear some of the damage taken by their allies. Albafica reduces the damage dealt by the enemies and their healing effect.
In the first round, Sasha conjures a dimension. As Ophiuchus takes action, he can cover Sasha to protect her from enemy Taurus' attack. He can also cast Treatment or Reflect to restore Energy depending on the target's role. (If Ophiuchus has not awakened, he may resort to basic attack in the first round, then recover HP with Treatment in the second round.) Thanatos uses basic attack. Divine Taurus strikes the damage dealer or a powerful support Saint in the enemy lineup. Albafica launches basic attack. Persephone marks the enemy unit who can be easily covered or hidden.
Persephone reduces the enemies' Max HP in each round. Thanatos lowers their DEF, and Albafica deals damage with Rose Poison. After a few rounds, when the lineup is fully developed, it will become a formidable team on the battlefield. Once the enemies' Max HP drops to all-time low, Thanatos and Persephone can finish them off at will.
Awakened Thanatos is enhanced in almost every aspect. His survivability and damage-dealing capacity are increased exponentially. He can remove the control effects on himself by triggering Final Might or Gaze of Death. This enables him to unleash his full potential and deal great damage even if he is only equipped with HP/DEF Cosmos. With his newly-awakened power, Thanatos can live up to his name as one of the twin gods.
This is all for today's guide. See you next time!
