Alliance Conquest | S22 | R5 | WxD vs KAC

The penultimate round of the Alliance Conquest season was about to begin.

For WxD, this season had been marked by many changes, starting with the leadership shift following recent departures. A group known for being united and cohesive on the battlefield now found itself inevitably weakened. But, as in life, change was inevitable, and sooner or later, it came for everyone.

Vlodek and his WxD comrades were doing their best to qualify for Ultimate Conquest and secure a place among the top 16 alliances of the regular AC season—a feat that once seemed almost guaranteed but had now become a daunting challenge. They had to face reality and acknowledge that their group was no longer among the strongest in Westeros, and each member had to give their absolute best.

"Today's match won't be easy. Our four-win streak will inevitably put us against a strong alliance," said VN uthe as his comrades arrived on the battlefield for the fifth round of the season.

The tactics had already been laid out, and the final preparations were underway. But then, all of a sudden, a chill fell over the members of WxD. Their gazes lifted in unison, fixing on the towering banners approaching. Behind them, a vast march of warriors advanced with steady steps. They knew this would be a tough match, but they hadn’t expected an opponent like this.

It was KAC!

formidable opponent to face in this match, also in search of a decisive victory to enter the top 16 of the strongest alliances. Led by incredible members such as musa, Matjan, and Black Bear, they had arrived on the battlefield ready to give everything to grab an unexpected qualification, even though they were not the favorites today.

"It will be an incredibly difficult match," thought Vlodek, aware that their rivals had only one goal: victory.

"We must be ready to give everything on the battlefield. Today's match will be brutal," declared VN uthe, with a firm voice but full of tension. Then, with a look at his teammates, he added: "But if we fight at the best of our abilities, our rivals will have no chance!" he concluded the motivational speech with confidence, knowing they were starting with the advantage on paper and wanting to prove why on the battlefield.

The air was dense with tension. No one would step onto the field without fighting to their last breath. The clash would undoubtedly be unforgettable.

In the minutes before the war began, the wind picked up, waving the banners of both factions. The sky hit hard above their heads, becoming another rival that would make itself felt throughout the match due to the heat and humidity. The two factions were ready to battle for the full sixty minutes to write history for their alliance, they were just waiting for the start of the five showdown of the season.

An excellent start by WxD, who managed to claim all the buildings on the battlefield.

The speed of their racers at the beginning was incredible, as was their determination to secure victory by the end of the match.

Vlodek and his companions' first move was to immediately perform swaps to secure the positions against their formidable rivals. These were successful thanks to the speed of the incoming reinforcements KAC members didn’t manage to intercept a single one!

The rivals' counterattack was to launch an assault on Warrior the tower held by DarkCrixo was a crucial target. “We must defend it at all costs,” urged VN uthe, encouraging his allies to send reinforcements. When the attackers arrived, with decent timing, the solid defense held without major issues, thanks also to the incoming support.

But just when things were going well, here came the plot twist. When attempting the swaps at Targaryen outpost, this time they were intercepted by KAC! The rivals had patiently waited for a misstep from WxD and immediately took advantage of it, restoring balance to the match by gaining control of outpost a clear sign they were ready to fight until the end with hopes of reaching UC.

“Let’s prepare to assault Targaryen outpost,” was the decision from WxD's leadership, marking the outpost as their next target. The assaults organized by Vlodek and his companions launched against the walls defended by Wood lord, and when the battle ended… the defense failed and was pushed back! A heavy blow for KAC, who now, not one building in their possession, found themselves in a clearly disadvantaged position.

“Well done. Now let’s take the Ports,” was the rallying cry from WxD's leadership, who had started the match in the best possible way.

But just a few minutes later... opening of the Ports, once again both were captured by WxD!

The speed of Ms ELLEN and BANANA was incredible, giving their alliance a crushing advantage.

At the imminent opening of Casterly Rock, a lightning-fast assault came from Musa and his allies, targeting the Targaryen Outpost a completely unexpected move for WxD, who were preparing to storm the castle walls and were caught off guard, losing control of the crucial outpost.

“Let’s deal with CR first,” said VN uthe to his allies. The castle was clearly more important in terms of points earned.

At the opening of Casterly Rock, once again Sylica was the fastest on the battlefield, proving indispensable to his group. Following the conquest, a lightning-fast swap put light yagami in command, one of the toughest warriors among WxD’s ranks.

A slightly distracted KAC, caught off guard by the rivals’ racers’ speed, gave Vlodek and his companions the chance to organize their assault on Lannister Stronghold, KAC barely resisted the blows.

However, the counterattack by musa and his companions stunned the WxD members. Caught off guard while returning from their siege, WxD members couldn’t repel the rivals’ assault on Lannister Stronghold, which fell, giving the attackers possession of both stronghold once again. KAC was showing they weren’t willing to give up despite failing to capture Casterly Rock.

But just when things seemed to be going well for them, here came the surprise attack. Or better said, attacks!

The relentless attacks led by BANANA and Vlodek, supported by their teammates against both stronghold, finally paid off, and both buildings were conquered by WxD! The opponents, unable to organize support for both positions simultaneously and failing to choose in time where to concentrate their forces, ended up outsmarted. “Well done,” their allies congratulated them.

The conquest of these buildings, close to the opening of the mines, brought WxD one step away from victory: thanks to holding the majority of the buildings throughout the battle and an uncontested dominance over Casterly Rock, capturing the mines alone would render all rival efforts useless and secure the win in the sixth round.

"We will se what we do now!” was the message from the alliance leadership, sensing the smell of victory and the Ultimate Conquest the goal was near!

At the opening of the mines, the two alliances managed to capture one each! This was not enough for KAC to mount a comeback that was now almost impossible.

The WxD command immediately decided to leave both mines to KAC. "We have 80k points, so we don't need a mines, and others buildings anymore" said VN uthe, thus giving KAC a chance to score a large number of points.

The battle ended here, with KAC, after fighting hard throughout the challenge, forced to accept the mathematical defeat it was no longer possible for them to turn the tide of the match.

The final victory went to… WxD!

“A simple match, just as we expected. It was good because it allowed us to save our strength for the season’s final big battle, which will decide if we qualify for UC. See you on the battlefield!” was the clear message from WxD’s leadership to their teammates before returning to their kingdoms they expected their best performance in the next match.

Vlodek, back in home, was already mentally focused on the next match; he felt it deeply. He was ready to do whatever it took on the battlefield to help his teammates reach the season’s goal.
