💠Introduction

What’s up, folks? Welcome back to my Illusion Battlefield (IB) series, where I take a closer look at different matches. IB is different from the IB League tournament in that you will use your normal teams, skill sets, talents, and decoration skins, so strength is extremely relevant. The mode is also much slower-paced. Relocations and marching speed are slower. The event is one of the most entertaining events in Infinity Kingdom, and players enjoy spectating, almost like a sporting event. In this article, I’m going to take a closer look at the regular season match between Server 14’s The Zoo(ZOO) and Server M002’s Justice League(JLA). ZOO’s positions in this match will be denoted in green while JLA’s will be in red.

💠Overview

ZOO and JLA are standout alliances from smaller, less populated servers that punched above their weight in the IBL. ZOO finished ranked 5th, while JLA landed at 14th largely due to a tougher strength of schedule rather than weaker play. Week to week, JLA typically fields a larger roster, and because they come from a merged server, their individual accounts are likely stronger on average. Taken together, depth plus account power makes JLA the slight favorite in a head-to-head, though ZOO’s top-end performance keeps the matchup competitive.

💠Starting Positions and Talents

JLA

  • Started with 18 players and ended with 22
  • 6 Attack talents
  • 9 Defense talents
  • 3 Support talents

ZOO

  • Started with 12 players and ended with 12
  • 7 Attack talents
  • 3 Defense talents
  • 2 Support talents

💠Tower 1

At Tower 1, both teams sent nine players, but ZOO’s relocations and positioning were clearly superior as they secured the top and right sides in a tight, gapless formation. JLA’s setup faltered with only one player adjacent to the tower, another tried to push into ZOO’s side to block relocations but arrived second, and the rest left openings that ceded control. Even with ZOO’s textbook formation, the choice to contest Tower 1 was poor given the broader situation.

💠Tower 4

At Tower 4, ZOO sent two players while JLA sent one. Both teams made sensible choices, since Tower 4 fights are usually avoided by the bottom-sided team and ZOO could control the tower with minimal commitment. ZOO correctly anticipated JLA would not contest hard and kept resources focused elsewhere. JLA’s lone player was fine, but he would have been better used at Tower 1 unless he was the strongest player on the field.

💠Central Tower

At the Central Tower, ZOO ceded the objective while JLA sent four and secured control early. This gave JLA mid-map pressure, safer rotations, and faster reinforcement paths. ZOO should have prioritized contesting the middle instead of Tower 1 given its greater strategic value.

💠Altars

Neither team sent anyone to the altars.

💠Home Towers

ZOO stationed one guard at their home tower and JLA had three at theirs.

💠Play-by-Play

ZOO immediately canceled one of their relocations. They blocked one JLA relocation and destroyed another, which stranded JLA’s front line. ZOO focused fire and zeroed the two closest JLA players before reinforcements could arrive, and many JLA accounts appeared to lack Fast Relocation so their relocation speed lagged. Five minutes in, ZOO secured the tower and kept rolling, zeroing JLA players one by one while taking little meaningful damage in return. Some ZOO members peeled toward the Central Tower afterward, but that rotation should have came a few minutes earlier.

At Tower 4, ZOO’s two players landed well before three JLA arrivals but reacted late and only destroyed one relocation, missing the chance to wipe all three and lock the area. The untouched JLA relocation belonged to a stronger account that outpaced ZOO in direct trades, and JLA steadily funneled reinforcements into the tower. Pressure built, ZOO lost control of the fights around the perimeter, and JLA captured Tower 4 at the 17 minute mark.

JLA controlled the area around the Central Tower in the opening minutes. Ten minutes in, ZOO rotated from Tower 1 toward mid. JLA tried to block two relocations, but their slow reactions left a third untouched and the invader zeroed one of the blockers, which opened the lane for more ZOO arrivals. JLA sent reinforcements from spawn yet still allowed a ZOO player to park next to the tower without deleting his relocation. ZOO numbers kept growing and six of them held their ground against roughly half of JLA’s team, showing a clear power edge. Over the next fifteen minutes the teams fought back and forth, but ZOO steadily won trades, zeroed JLA accounts, and tightened their ring around the objective. ZOO captured the Central Tower at the twenty five minute mark and finished by zeroing the remaining JLA.

At 20 minutes JLA had overcommitted to the center and left Tower 4 with four guards, one soon relocated away and two were far from the tower. A single ZOO player teleported in and zeroed the two closest defenders. The last JLA guard moved toward mid instead of protecting the objective, giving ZOO free access to steal the tower. One JLA player teleported in to stop the invader but failed, and subsequent relocations were blocked or destroyed by ZOO. The lone ZOO player captured Tower 4 at the 29 minute mark.

At Tower 3, one ZOO player relocated to JLA’s home tower and another teleported in. The multiple JLA guards again failed to destroy any relocations, so ZOO did not even need to zero defenders. The tower flipped freely at the 31 minute mark. With Tower 3 captured, ZOO controlled all five towers and effectively sealed the match.

💠Summary

ZOO defeated JLA 100,000 to 24,000, with Rdp named MVP. Despite starting six players down and finishing ten players short, ZOO secured Tower 1 early, rotated power to the center, and then opportunistically seized Tower 4 and Tower 3 to lock all five towers. Both teams struggled to destroy relocations, but JLA’s slow responses and poor deletion discipline cost them far more. ZOO capitalized on every opening, validated their higher IBL ranking, and closed out a lopsided win.
