Hello and welcome back again for the fourth round of Siege of Winterfell. Last round ended with a tremendous loss for Queensguard who lost 96k to not even 15k points for them against RI1. That huge loss left them with a negative record of 1 win, 2 losses. They HAVE to win. It’s important for their record but most importantly, for their moral. Losing 3 times in a row would be terrible, today’s match, if they win, could get them back on the right track. Their opponent for this round is MyrishFire, also called MyR. As the countdown comes to end, 38 members are in for QGD while only 11 came for MyR.

We can see that QGD take this round very seriously, 9 more players than the last game. They also have a number advantage this time, 27 more players are in. It might seem like an easy win but their memory shall serve them well in this instance. They lost their match against SeF while having a number advantage too. That being said, the game finally starts, QGD now have no more time to think, it’s time to act !

As usual, both alliances go for the buildings closest to them, QGD takes the Stark outposts, MyR takes the Greyjoy outposts. That being done, the real fun begins now. QGD go straight for Armory while MyR go for Hot Spring. For now, they’re the only ones at each respective place, that will not last I tell you. No real lead taken, same amount of buildings, pretty much the same points, QGD have yet to use their number advantage.

The strongholds open up and the two Stark’s one are immediately taken without any resistance by QGD. Greyjoy stronghold 1 is left unattended, (poor guy). As for Greyjoy stronghold 2, while it does go to MyR, it’s being disputed. The courageous PavlB has launched his troops upon this stronghold and though a little outnumbered, he is applying much needed pressure upon MyR, may be this pressure will help QGD to follow-up on his efforts. Now, let’s talk about Hot Spring (you thought I forgot about it, didn’t you ? Hah, got you). MyR is very largely dominant there with over 12 marches there. That is not enough, the brave Xyrox has arrived at the location and without thinking started attacking the enemy troops. He is vastly outnumbered, way more than PavlB but for now he is holding his own very well, that time will definitely help as MyR now have to choose which building to defend, Hot Spring or Greyjoy stronghold 2.

Finally, Gray Bear jumped into an unfavorable position as well by attacking the decently well guarded Greyjoy outpost 2. It’s 3 vs 7, difficult but doable. Maybe he won’t even do it. Truth is, it helps with what we just discussed, it puts pressure on MyR. They have to act, or rather, to react. Whatever they do, QGD has the initiative, that is very good to take, even more at the start of the game.

Gray bear’s battle is still going on, he’s handling himself really well as he has not lost one march while there are only 5 MyR remaining, meaning he beat 2 already. Xyrox, on the other hand, is having a more difficult time though he’s put up a very strong fight. He now has only one march left but Hot Spring now only counts 8 enemy troops as compared to the original 12. Greyjoy outpost 1 is attacked by LordLionel with his full army against the lone troop of DRECO, should be an easy win. The Stark outpost 2 on the other hand is getting attack by Thuggie of MyR and as it is loosely defended, it will surely need assistance if QGD want to retain it. To finish, Greyjoy stronghold 1 is attacked by The Trooper1 bur his troops are rapidly dying and CASTOR is winning by himself a 3 vs 1 battle to keep the stronghold.

As QGD focused on defending its buildings and trying to take over a few from MyR, they completely forgot about the WF resources. The MyR troops get it easily even though QGD troops were right there to take it, they simply stood by. Right after though, they started attacking the convoy. At first they were a huge number and they started putting pressure on MyR but then, more MyR troops arrived and helped defend the carrier who was able to carry the resources safely to one of their buildings. As for the state of the fights, Greyjoy outpost 1 was won over by LordLionel, the Greyjoy stronghold 1 is still attacked but now by LordLionel who came to help right after the first outpost as The Trooper1 couldn’t win against CASTOR. His help was a big reach as again he takes over another building from MyR. Finally, the Stark outpost 2 that was under attack by thuggie now defended and being taken by LordSmp.

The WF resources this time are taken by QGD. MyR weren’t really present this time, I suppose all the fighting tired them out. Nonetheless, it’s an easy carry this time as QGD get the resources and take a clear lead now. As a sign of their dominance, the only buildings MyR control are the ones they take over using stealthy tactics such as Greyjoy outpost 1 and Stark outpost 2. They send lone troops to take over while they’re not defended and when someone comes they either fight or run away but cannot stand their own regardless. The one building MyR dominates is Hot Spring, surprising but QGD are happy to give them one building if they can take the rest.

A few more WF resources are taken by QGD, this allows them to further their lead as time goes on. As for the buildings, they are not threatened but by small attacks here and there which they fend off rather easily. MyR has suffered huge losses at Hot Spring which they give up but return even stronger at the Greyjoy stronghold 2. There’s no reason for QGD to push and try to get this building. It would only scatter the MyR troops and make them more difficult.

The game is now finished and it’s a very good, well deserved victory for QGD. It’s bound to bring their moral back up after a dominant performance where they committed few mistakes, like allowing one WF resources to be taken by MyR, and the ones they committed they only did once. Overall, a great match, leaves QGD with a now even record of 2 wins, 2 losses, much better than at the start. On top of that they almost got the 80k points, missed it by so little but it is no problem. As for MyR, for 11 players they fought very well, brought back more than 30k points from this match, a really impressive amount. They tried and even when they got overpowered and outnumbered they still continued with a different tactic adapted to their condition. If they had more people, they probably could win playing like that.
