CCS64, Adamant Fortress: The battle of allies

Champion City Siege also known as CCS is one of the oldest and most revered tournaments in Seven Kingdoms. From the very first days of Westeros, the strongest lords and ladies gathered their supporters and together went on the war without any compromises and falling backs. It happened that way that after mighty warlord CrimsoNDawn previously known as Alatunn joined our alliance our team joined the struggle more than 2 years ago and since that moment CCS became one of the most beloved events for inhabitants of kingdom 48. Now we changed our kingdom to 310 to unite most of BTa warlords in one group and the new 64th season of  Champion City Siege was coming to test our might and team work once again. Let's see how BTa and kingdom 310 went through their first CCS together.^^

After the relocation to a new kingdom the old duke had many problems that were demanding urgent resolving, on the top of the mountain a new season of Champion City Siege was coming in a few days. Two previous seasons brought us and to our champion CrimsonDawn a lot of rewards but it came with a high cost – our cavalry and infantry armies seriously thinned out. Parallelly with that we had All Out War that also took from us a certain amount of resources so our economical side was pretty much down. As usual we got to know our opponents one day before the start of the CCS battle. It turned out that many of the alliances from our AOW coalition were matched to fight for Adamant Fortress and WxD started to gather a big group with an aim to seriously contest the champion`s title. Many of our allies already started to negotiate with them. As a result they formed a team filled with WxD, RRH and HD! alliances members. It was obvious that the reward places were less than the amount of warlords having desire to get them. The only more or less serious opponent that we had to fight against was WAO and a relatively small group of Gjs could join the battle but that alliance never showed either serious intent nor organizational level to contest CCS champions title for real.

What could we do in such circumstances while we were exhausted and our current allies already aimed for the champions title? On the other hand it was doubtful that WAO would be able to set any serious level of challenge so uniting all in one team would also result in a pretty dull take over with the other side not being able to put much action into upcoming battle. The solution seemed to be pretty simple and obvious – we had to fight each other. The thing that except main point of CCS - fighting for champions title – it is also a great tournament for many warriors that came to support their champion as they can participate and use their troops to get a good amount of event tokens that can be exchanged in CCS/KVK shop. The shop proposes a way to get a set of specific red badges granting a crucial bonus of 200% attack and defense for one troop type if you manage to get a full set of 8 badges, of course. To not let that opportunity go away we simply had to fight each other 😀. The old duke proposed it to the allied group of warlords and they gladly accepted it so the deal was made and we only had to wait for another day. Right after the negotiation the old general quickly summoned his maester and after writing a letter asked to send it to all lords and ladies in kingdom 310. We won`t contest CCS champions title this time but instead we will be besieging our allies defenses the entire event. It had to reduce our expenses and give a break to our warlords to rebuild their armies at the same time they meant to get a significant amount of CCS tokens. As for Crimson there meant to be no great reward but maybe a few millions of merit points would become a consolation prize 🙂

On the next morning our party was assembled in around one hour before the start of CCS. While some participants haven't arrived at Kings Landing of kingdom 310 yet we started to move on the battle map to take position before the battle. Normally we place our castles to the South of Champion City but this time WAO was first to take the spot so we started to build a war camp on the opposite side and meant to attack the stronghold from the Northern side. The biggest party that belonged to our AOW coalition took the entire Eastern side and Gjs group together with some other warriors had to attack the Admanat Fortress from the West.

The battle has started and the main contender for CCS title that united under the banner of AfV alliance immediately made their move by placing their champion STRAW BERRY into Adamant Fortress. While the WAO alliance slowly prepared to start their siege from another side Crimson quickly assembled a cavalry army and with shouting “For fun and glory” launched the first offensive attack to see if our allies set their defenses properly. As it turned out just in a few seconds AfV was so serious that some lords even placed elite T5 troops into Adamant Fortress 😂. Despite strong defensive line almost twice bigger Crimson`s army 

washed away the entire defensive garrison like a tidal wave taking away any coastal debris. Only a small portion of our soldiers got wounded and killed. At the same time on another side WAO wasn't so successful as they thoughtlessly tried to attack with infantry and suffered serious losses in such a way we could get a perfect balance where we took by killing AfV troops and they were killing WAO and Gjs  \(^ω^\ ).

The first half hour passed in one battle changing the other with us achieving more and more victories and filling our lords pockets with badge tokens whilst AfV secured 1st place and got a good amount of tokens from other attackers. The next lord to defend Adamant Fortress was pretty well known to the old duke – Lord Pratap, who was not only a famous chronicler and a warlord in Westeros but also fought on our side long ago before our old alliance 1HR merged with BTa. In those distant days Pratap always fought on our side putting good effort in every battle and also tried to share his experience about event organization or personal combat skills with our rookies. Since that day we never fought against each other but today we all were allies so attacking him wasn't against our good relationships. Even though Pratap was an old and experienced fighter he lacked strength against Crimson even more than STRAW BERRY. Despite his best efforts and tactical tricks his troops that collided with our forces near walls of Adamant Fortress got bloody beaten and if not sufficient reinforcements that were overfilling the ancient fortress he would be forced to abandon it.

With the battle going on, resources of the AfV alliance started to go down and at some point Pratap`s defense got a big crack and one of the strongest WAO warlords Korillion took over. It was a short success as now he had to face off against all other parties and despite WAO having more than half of their alliance on the same kingdom the troops they dispatched on the legendary battlefield of Champion City Siege wasnt enough to hold it just a bit more than 1 minute.  However, Korillion`s defensive line showed good resistance and despite a full counter managed to wound and kill some of our troops!

Korillion`s defenses desperately resisted a few more attacks but BARLAB, who was representing RRH and was their champion to contest for Champions City put an end to Korillion`s struggle and with the final blow forced the WAO warlord to retreat to his war camp . It was a major defeat for WAO as to get inside Adamant Fortress they spent the previous part of the event and their chances to get inside were small since not much time left until the end of the battle.  Crimson, who previously defeated a few good rally leaders, was going to challenge another serious enemy now.

– Today we had a great battle and all of you got a sufficient amount of valuable gifts. We were working hard now the time to push one last time and finish the event as it meant to be for any warrior - while fighting to the last moment. To arms! - he mounted on his horse and moved out of the camp, a rallied army followed him forming a steel wedge, ready to strike defensive troops already set in formation near Adamant Fortress.

As it happened all previous times, a serious quantity advantage allowed our army to crush an adversary without giving much chances to our opponent. Suddenly we noticed that BARLAB`s troops were leaving Adamant Fortress which meant Crimson was a new conqueror. It was a bit surprising as we thought there were more troops to defend against a few attacks but it ended up with us taking over Champions City. What could we do? It was too late to fight for any of 3 top reward places but we couldn't stop the fun so it was our time  to defend against everyone 😀

One of the first attacking armies belonged to a warlord that came for battle together with Pratap from kingdom 91. Despite full counter and good army commanders that includes Daena, Sararer, Ayrmidon and Daenerys significant advantage of equipment and weapons together with some other combat bonuses and obvious lack of troops on opponents side - normally attacking army size starts from 7 million troops - led tintin80 to a catastrophic defeat. With having just 1 million troops more and without support of elite T5 soldiers his army got surrounded long before he reached the walls of Adamant Fortress and after encircling slaughtered. 

The last battle that was closing the Champion City Siege for Adamant Fortress happened between Crimson and FFS cavalry rally leader Scooberman. The second one was significantly weaker than our champion but didn't make the same mistake as the previous opponent and brought his own T5 army and managed to assemble a serious rallied army of 7.2 million cavalry troops. The battle came out to be hot as even with bigger losses Scooberman continued to press on our flanks increasing our casualties even paying for it the iron price. The battle could continue even longer but when Crimson lost around half of his army Scooberman found out that he depleted all reserves and there is nothing he can do anymore. Thus his army bugler signaled for retreat, leaving the battlefield fully covered with corpses of his and our soldiers. It was the last serious fight and after that only a few small armies showed up at Adamant Fortress walls just to be destroyed 🙂 Well, they fought, they tried, Long live the fighters!

Suddenly all first 3 contenders for champions crown joined other alliances that already had CCS champions and by the rules of the tournament and will of Fortune we accidentally got the crown even without a personal reward for our champion all the rest of trophies came to our hands 😀 It was a great day and the glorious battle between allies that brought us a lot of fun and valuable gifts.
