Introduction – A Sunny Season with Familiar Shadows
Running from July 11 to July 20, the Midsummer Festival brings back the full seasonal event format we now know well. It looks relaxed at first glance — open fields, bright colors, decorative tents — but behind the theme, everything is built for planning, collecting, optimizing and..spending.
You’ll find the same features as recent events: daily sign-ins, a 30-level pass, PvE challenges, and a competitive Crystal-draw mechanic. You’ll also get a new upgradeable castle skin and a new Immortal to chase.
The format works. And once again, it’s up to you to make the most of it.

Sign-In Rewards – Simple, Solid, Worth the Tap
Just log in each day and collect 2 Resonance Crystals. That adds up to 20 free Crystals by the end of the event. Nothing else required. Whether you’re pushing hard this event or not engaging at all, this is free progress.

Maël’s Opinion: This one is as easy as it gets. If you’re logging in anyway, take the two Crystals. Every little bit counts in the long run.

The Celebration Pass – New Skin, Familiar Strategy
The pass includes 30 levels and follows the usual format. Complete up to 7 daily tasks for EXP. You’ll need 7,000 EXP total to finish the pass.

Free Track:
- 60 Resonance Crystals

Players can collect up to 170 Resonance Crystals in total through daily sign-ins, the free Battle Pass, and the Celebration Shop.
Premium Track ($49.99):
- 145 Resonance Crystals
- 6,000 Gems
- 60 Random Holy/Shadow Fragments
- The Abyssal Temple Castle Skin
The skin starts with +5% Troop ATK and -3% Death Rate and can be upgraded up to +15% ATK and -6% Death Rate.

Maël’s Opinion: If you don’t already have an upgradable skin, this one is a solid pick. I still wish we had the option to upgrade previous skins instead of chasing a new one every time, but Abyssal Temple is visually and strategically impactful.
You earn EXP by completing 7 daily quests, with a maximum of 700 EXP per day. Since the full pass requires 7,000 EXP, you can afford to miss a day or two.

Maël’s Opinion: If you’re missing a +2% HP skin, Abyssal Temple is an easy pick. It fits the event theme, looks great, and brings solid value. The crystal-to-dollar ratio is fair, and the Holy/Shadow fragments are premium. In terms of stats, Abyssal Temple offers +Troop ATK and -Death Rate, while Skyriver Palace boosts Physical and Magical ATK with the same Death Rate reduction. Troop ATK applies more broadly, making Abyssal Temple arguably more powerful overall.
Glorious Challenge – Smart Timing, Solid Coins
You get five challenge tickets each day. Normal Mode is available from Day 1, while Hard Mode unlocks on Day 3.

Each challenge rewards Radiance Marks, the currency for the event shop. Tickets expire daily, so it’s important to use them wisely.

Maël’s Opinion: This feature hasn’t changed, and that’s a good thing. Wait until Hard Mode is open before spending Gems on extras — it’s more efficient.

Pinnacle Trial – One Daily Try, Always Worth It
You get one free challenge attempt per day. If you win, you unlock:
- 18 Resonance Crystals
- Holy/Shadow Fragments
- Random Immortal Fragments
- A raidable version of the cleared stage

Even if you lose, there’s no cost, so it’s always worth trying.
Maël’s Opinion: A consistent, risk-free source of value. It rewards players with strong PvE setups but never punishes those who are still building.

Treasure Hunter – Ares, Skins, and the Spending Dilemma
Spend Crystals to open chests and earn ranking points. Compete for leaderboard positions and rare drops.

This time, the prize pool includes:
- Ares Immortal Fragments in the Chaos Selection Chest.
- Abyssal Temple skin upgrade copies

Chests reset every two hours if no grand prize is pulled. Drop odds for major rewards remain low, still below 3%. You can spend up to $99.99 for 210 Crystals, but unless you're aiming for the leaderboard, it's a big investment. Real-time drop rate for the remaining rewards in the pool still shows.
Epic Immortal Selection Chests, which was an addition to Seasonal Event format last Children Festival is still there in the second-tier prize pool and that is a great news.

Maël’s Opinion: If you’re spending heavily, this is your space. For others, it may be more realistic to sit it out or aim low. The system hasn’t changed, but the pressure ramps up with each new upgradable skin.
Earlier in the article, we noted that the Abyssal Temple Castle Skin is the second upgradeable castle skin introduced. It can be leveled up to level 10, with stats improving at each stage.

Unlocking it at level 1 through the Celebration Pass gives you +5% Troop ATK and -3% Death Rate.

But to reach level 10, with up to +15% ATK and -6% Death Rate, you'll need multiple duplicates — available only through Daily Ranking rewards in Treasure Hunter.

New to this event: the Abyssal Temple Castle Skin Fragments are now awarded beyond just the first place. Players ranking 2nd receive 36 fragments, 3rd place gets 24, and ranks 4th to 10th each receive 12 fragments. That slightly improves access, but it still makes Abyssal Temple the most expensive castle skin ever released. Realistically, maxing it would require placing in the top 3 almost every day — a cost that can still reach thousands of dollars. Even the Shadow Castle Skin locked behind VIP 15 and months of grinding ends up cheaper.

At level 1, the skin is a strong reward. But fully upgrading it? That’s for whales only. These upgradeable skins, alongside cheaper Chaos Immortals, are forming a new monetization layer within seasonal events.

The structure offers rewards for all players, but it clearly favors heavy spenders. The gap between them and Free-to-Play users grows with each event.
Maël’s Opinion: Most players will only walk away with speedups, fragments, or basic resources. If you're Free-to-Play, avoid spending Crystals here except all at once.. If you're a light spender, same, save your Crystals and try to snipe a leaderboard placement toward the end of the event, when competition may cool down.
Celebration Store – Pick Power Over Shine
Spend your Radiance Marks wisely. The best rewards remain:
- Stardust
- Artifact Selection Chests
Top Picks:
- 500 Stardust
- 2x Artifact Selection Chests
- 90 Resonance Crystals
Skip or Optional:
- Resources Chests
- Cosmetic items

The Crystal bundle is costly and better suited for players focused on Chaos development.
Maël’s Opinion: Go for power first. Same guidance as last time — skip the Crystal pack unless you're fully invested in Chaos or can empty the shop.. Stardust and Artifacts offer steady, long-term value and should always come first.
Bundles & Spending – Small Buys, Big Wins
The $2.99 and $4.99 bundles give you the most value. Mid-tier options ($9.99–$19.99) don’t scale well, and the $49.99 bundle is mostly about cosmetics.

Maël’s Opinion: Keep it simple. Grab the Pass and maybe a small bundle or two. Most players won’t benefit much from the rest.

Maël’s Final Take – Seasonal Event, Strategic Impact
The Midsummer Festival 2025 doesn’t surprise, but it delivers.
The structure works. You know what to expect. And if you use your time and resources smartly, you’ll walk away with real gains.
But there are signs that balance may start to shift. With back-to-back events offering new upgradable skins, it raises questions about accessibility for non-spenders. Still, for now, there’s enough value here for every kind of player.
🟢 Free-to-Play :
Log in daily, grab your Crystals, raid Hard Mode, max the pass, and spend your Marks on Stardust or Artifacts. Clean, efficient, no waste.
🟡 Light Spenders :
Pick up the Celebration Pass. Add a $3–$5 bundle if you want extra Crystals. Want to gamble? Try Treasure Hunter at the end when things quiet down.
🔴 Whales:
This one’s built for you. An exclusive upgradable Castle Skin, Chaos shards, Crystals galore, and all the cosmetics you could want. Go wild.
Let me know how it went for you this season. What did you pull? What did you prioritize? Always curious to hear your thoughts.
