At some point in this game, you will reach a point where there are just a handful of firsts left. Those tend to be the hardest firsts lol. Today was one of those days. The Night King was rumored to be coming with his army of the undead to destroy the server that we call home. This would not be my first rodeo with this frozen foe. The signs were there, the castles windows freezing even in the beaches of Sunspear.

Generals and white walkers slowly moving down through the kingdom leaving barren lands in their wake.

The opened crack in the wall meant to protect the people from all manner of malarkey including the supernatural kind.

As our first Night King of this kingdom I did not know what to expect. Will they go all out? Will only a couple actually hit the Night King, while the rest go on as if nothing has happened? Most importantly, will we kill him and get some of those precious Sapphire essences (cause mama needs blockade old gods..hint hint nudge nudge lol).

Killshot tried to reassure me, “we always kill it in a day, don’t worry”. But I was not sure. What if the old gods added a plot twist? What if our arrival somehow changed the night kings stats for the worse? I could go down the what if rabbit hole forever, but it wouldn’t help with the task at hand. I decided to focus on preparing the littles for Vegeta and my arrival into dtP. We would fall into farmville to rally this foe if he dare shows his face. I needed to make sure they all had some troops to be able to fill our rallies. Plus it will also help them get their solo points and all the goodies that come with it. Who don’t need the 4 star Retrospection lol.

A raven came to me with a message from Killshot. “A few of us will be rallying as soon as that icy bastard shows his face. More will be coming in the next few hours. When we get him down so he is soloable, Vegeta and you can join THP if you would like. It may prevent misclicks.” I chuckled as I read the message. It wasn’t so long ago that I misclicked on Vegeta (RIP T5s lol).

I sent back a raven thanking Killshot for including us and let him know we would rally from a distance in our lil farmville. It would be easier to avoid misclicks that way during the rally stage. A few from THP also left the alliance to join smaller alliances so we would have more rallies going. One by one we all moved our castles up to Winterfell, setting up the temporary winter hives that would allow us to attack the Night King in an orderly fashion.

The countdown was almost complete, we were ready. When the timer reached zero we called a rally. But low and behold those icy apparitions had knocked half of our newly made hive all throughout the seven kingdoms. Wait what?

We were then left scrambling to find a new place near this makeshift hive, bringing back the littles that were scattered. I imagined the old gods laughing at the shenanigans they created. The edge that the living has over the dead is we adapt. With everyone back in their place, we could rally the Night King at last. Vegeta did the first rally and we all scrambled in until he was full. The first strike is the first step into the unknown. You don’t know how strong the Night King is until you hit him. Vegeta’s rally did really well.

I was feeling optimistic so I took the second rally. Again we filled fast and launched the attack. I was hopeful my attack would have been as potent as Vegeta’s. When I saw the report I choked. WHHHHAAAATTTT?

My rally barely touched the NK. Even when faced with a favorable matchup. Welp Vegeta looks like it is all you. His rallies did exponentially more damage than mine it only made sense for him to keep leading. A raven came around this time from Killshot. “This Night King is different, stronger. He is modeled after one of THP players.” I sent back a reply “Is that why my rally didn’t do jack smack against him lol”. “The player is cav”, Killshot responded. Of course he is I thought to myself, Stoopid Cav. Once we got him down to only T5 spears, I attempted a rally again…

It is about dang time. Hitting the spears let me do a heck of a lot more damage. I kept leading the rallies until the T4s showed up, and passed the reigns back to Vegeta. Suddenly, there was a commotion in the kingdom. A member of THP who had left to join a small alliance to rally, had misclicked and hit the mighty AthEna. He lost his lord.

Having been there myself I know the feeling all to well. But wait there is more, while he was without his lord, someone from THP misclicked on him and he took a hit on top of everything.

His spirits were good, after all what else can you do but laugh in that kind of phuckery.

It was nearing reset and we were making amazing progress. I was guessing he should be dead in 12 hrs or so.

I had forgotten that reset would bring AOH. OMG I hope they don’t kill the NK while I am in arena. I watched as his health went further and further down, until I could wait no more. Whatever will be will be. Once we had gotten out of Arena, my worst fear came to be. The NK had died exactly one minute before I arrived back into Winterfell. I missed the killing blow.

Having had fought on so many fronts for most of the day, I was stunned, relieved and ecstatic all at the same time. I have never been on a kingdom that managed to take the NK out in one day. The best we had managed was 2 days a couple night kings ago. This was a wonderful first. Especially since the old gods increased the sapphire essence received for killing in the first day. Plus, even better, we don’t have to think about Night King again until the next time…

How goes your battles against the Night King?
