More benefits, more surprises
Lured by the promise of strategic conquests, alliances, and dragons, we start our journey as soon as the new kingdom was supposed to open. A new chapter of the Song of Ice and Fire is about to be written.
Plans don't often go as intended in the world of Westeros. Instead of starting fresh after the reset, we found ourselves dropped into an existing kingdom, one where other accounts already have a week’s head start. Not off to a promising start, we try to make the best of the situation.
On 2nd thought, this could be a good challenge. A week head start surely means a lot at this stage but we should overcome with some effort. Hoping our knowledge will be more valuable in the long run, we start with high hopes.
As instructed by our trusted advisors we start building up the castle and training a handful of troops. As we start to develop the important buildings inside the wall we are instructed to take venture outside the safety of the wall and take back the nearby camps.
And let's not forget the Maisters! Their advancements will make all tasks easier. Since we have a lot of construction ahead of us it's safe to start with Building Mastery and research as much as we can before we need to upgrade the Tower.
Before we have the courage to challenge what lies beyond the wall, we prepare ourselves with what commanders are available at this early stage. We push as far as we can in Weirwood to gain some experience and raise their levels so that they may stand a chance with the foes waiting.
Soon the 7 Gods bless us with a few more valiant commanders that will accompany us in the long journey that is to come.
With their help we push further in Weirwood and gain more experience.
Now we are pleased with a win
With experienced commanders we look outside the castle walls and take back 3 out of the 4 camps that start in rebel hands.
Grimfort is an east target and both lines fall without many casualties. The defenders are heavy on the Cavalry side so bringing more spears would definitely help.
Unfortunately we're heavy on the infantry side. Despite attacking our counter, we outnumber the defending forces and see an easy win.
The 2nd outpost has more infantry so there's no advantage on either side.
A clear win here as well. We're not fighting our counters and the numbers are in our favor.
Healing after each attack and with new troops we move on to Ironstone.
More troops, more evenly distributed. Not a lot of Wall Defenses so we feel confident.
Another clear victory, actually above expectations, but our commanders are stronger and we brought a few more troops.
The 2nd camp is almost identical so we expect a similar result.
As expected, the camp falls without many losses on our side.
After these easy wins we are confident and continue our quest to take back the 3rd rebel land Deerwood
Slightly more troops and defenses, nothing we can't handle
Yet another clean vitory.
We are met with a stronger forge at this camp and it requires 2 attacks to fully clear all the troops and retake the land
2nd strike is almost flawless, we swiftly eliminate the few remaining defenses and retake Deer
More plots to build Mints and Hospitals for our troops. A welcome victory to boost morale.
With all the building and fighting we didn't even notice the daily quests became active. A great way to earn rewards for our activities.
Later in the day we receive more help in the form of Varys.
He took his sweet time to reach us but we are eager to have him join our ranks.
Going through the natural steps we are rewarded with dragon essence as as soon as there is enough food to grow our baby to level 12 we can upgrade it. This will be a lovely surprise for us the next day.
Before calling it a night, we send our troops on a few expeditions farther from home. Victory is ours every time. No foe could stand against us yet but we are losing our numbers advantage fast. The only thing holding us back for now is our Endurance, forcing us to stop and prepare for the next day.
Before turning in, we start construction on the Castle level 10 and leave it overnight with some troop training and research.
It had been a tiring day, but we made good progress. We took back 3 out of the 4 camps, ending the day with our castle at level 9, building level 10, and the Weirwood at stage 19. Our lord reached level 11 but I feel we should have seen at least level 15. On the research side we could have made more progress and started Tier 2 troops but somehow we missed this part.
For any further progress our Lord needed to reach a higher level to advance the commanders. With stage 29 in the Weirwood set as tomorrow’s goal, we knew the real challenges are just beginning.
