New SvS oddity

Chronicle 12 requires 24 level 16 cities be taken to unlock the level 17 cities. And Chronicle 13 only gives rewards to the faction that takes two level 17 cities first.

Our plan had been to leave the three unoccupied level 16s alone to get more time before the level 17 cities unlocked when Chronicle 12 ended. But when Chronicke 12 started, it showed 23/24 cities taken even though only 21 of them were occupied.

That was much too close for comfort since one faction that held one of those unoccupied level 16s had had their section of zone 2 invaded by our common enemies and they were struggling to keep the enemies in check.

I tried asking my VIP guy why the 23/24 on the chronicle did not match our map. But, as usual, he did not get us an answer.

Then someone in our alliance had the idea that two level 16s had been dropped and retaken and that this was likely why the chronicle count was two cities higher than what we expected. We considered still waiting so long as our allies were being successful in keeping their unoccupied level 16 secure.

Then, we saw that our enemies had dropped a level 16 and were fairly certain the level 17s would unlock as soon as they retook it. And it was panic mode because we hadn’t dropped cities to take our own level 17s yet.

NONE of our alt alliances got assigned the faction of our main alliance. So, we had to scramble to contact the other two alliances from other servers in our faction to get them to each drop a city along with us doing so, then have one of them retake the level 16 we dropped and immediately start sieging the two level 17s. It was bedlam getting it all coordinated!

Our allies in the other faction attacked our common enemies during the sieges to distract them, and we actually finished our two level 17s first and got the chronicle rewards.

But the important part that everyone must be aware of is this oddity with the chronicle counting retaking cities!!
