Spotlight on Immortal : Atalanta

Hey everyone, I am PO PandaMoratia. Did you know that Immortal Atalanta is a member of the Argonauts? In this article, we will review the immortal's skills and exclusive artifact, explore potential immortal and skill pairings, and lastly, I will share my insights on her role in the current meta.

History : 

Atalanta was a swift huntress from Greek mythology. According to the legends, when Atalanta was born, her father, King Iasus, was forced to abandon her in the mountains. Strangely, she was then taken care of by a female bear and later found and raised by a group of hunters. During that time, she was trained to hunt and fight like a bear. After rigorous training and discipline, she reunited with her father.

Concept : 

Atalanta is a Wind Range Bowman Immortal. Her ability makes her enter the Sniper’s Stance for 10 seconds, reducing 25% attack speed and gaining a 50% increased normal attack damage. While in that Stance, every normal attack has a 100% chance of piercing the target and causing damage to the enemy behind that target.

Exclusive Artifact : 

I believe that this artifact is of high value. The Exclusive Artifact removes the 25% attack speed penalty of the Sniper’s Stance. As for the stats, I would prioritize obtaining a main attribute of Physical Attack % and aim for "Iron Fist" as a special attribute.

Skills : 

As Normal Attack centric immortal, Atalanta love skill such as : 

Cleave: Funnel damage on the backliner behind your main target.

Assembly in charge: Funnel damage with her ultimate Stance and debuff the target.

Storm Strike: To add some Magical damage to your march if it doesn’t have any.

Heavenly Thunder: To add some Magical damage to your march if it doesn’t have any.

Berserk: While it is not optimum to have her bearing that Aura, you want someone in the march to do so.

Best friends : 

Atalanta would benefit from being paired with Qin to enhance her Normal Attack ability with a cleave effect and increased attack speed. She also pairs well with Hannibal, who shares the same Normal Attack mechanic and needs. The trio of Hannibal, Qin, and Atalanta could serve as a solid foundation for assembling a Normal Attack-centric Wind marches team.

Conclusion : 

Wind marches are unfortunately not very popular in the meta, mainly because it's difficult to upgrade the dragon and there are a lot of easy-to-build Fire marches. In theory, having a Hannibal and Atalanta funnel their empower by Qin’s damage into a Row can be extremely effective and successful in taking out marches that rely heavily on a single backline damage dealer. This could be the key for Wind marches to become more popular in the meta, but it would require a high-level dragon, which is currently very challenging to obtain.
