More benefits, more surprises
Winter Is Coming! - he remembered.
The words echoed off the cold walls in the lobby of Lord Boness's castle. They had won four games of the Siege of Winterfell season. Despite two crushing defeats when we played against the Unb alliance, tSN finished the SoW season in a reasonably good place...in fifth place. In this perspective, Lord Boness wished to advance further. But just like in the war of the five kings, these stages were only specific battles in the war that was still ongoing. The playoffs would now begin. Similar to what happened in the last AC, only 70 warriors could enter the battlefield. I have resumed troop training, and completed additional research in the Master's Tower. Lord Boness intended to enter the next fight with a number of soldiers even greater than the usual 3 million troops.
After pairing, tSN would face 1PT. Such an alliance was familiar. They dominate K153 and among their ranks, were great warriors. Lord Boness' expectations were high and he would spare no effort (or accelerators for healing) during the battle to help his alliance. The desire for blood grew even more due to the postponement of the match, although a certain fear also grew as some important players might not adapt to the new schedule. It would be a busy weekend, as right after SoW, we would also have the battle of kingdom versus kingdom (KVK), in which we would defend our new home.
The battle would take place at twilight. In the distance, WF's imposing castle rose beneath the ice-covered plain of the North. The banners of our tSN alliance fluttered in the freezing wind as the armies positioned themselves in anticipation of battle. Lord Boness, dressed in his armor, already worn from so many fights, raised his sword and cast a determined look at his infantry, who awaited the signal to advance. Suddenly, the silence was broken by the roar of trumpets.
The battle began with a deafening roar, the screams of men echoing as the clash of steel on steel filled the frigid air.
The bravery of warriors and the strategy of commanders would be tested to the limit. More than brute force, teamwork is essential in a battle like SoW.45 tSN warriors appeared on the field against 50 warriors from 1PT. Scouts brought information that the enemy team was divided into two flanks, aiming to target both Armory and Hot Spring. We decided that we would do the same, and Lord Boness informed us that he would go to HS, which is usually the most sought after building! When the timer started, a wave headed towards both buildings.
In Armory, surprisingly, we were able to take control quickly.
However, in HS, the battle turned bloody. Initially with greater dominance by the 1PT, the fight in this building demonstrated that the enemies were truly willing to fight to the death.
Lord Boness remained in place, sending reinforcements as time passed. He sought out enemies using spears or even bows to avoid counterattack damage from enemy cavalry. Little by little, we were also able to take control of HS.
By watching the timer, the first WF pack would soon be available. After reorganizing his troops for the 2nd time, Lord Boness went to help protect the package. This became even more challenging. The package changed hands frequently, and although we controlled almost all the bases, the enemies were initially better organized to transport the bag. Lord Protheus and Lady Anabela from PT on numerous occasions maintained strong control over the package.
At this time, Lord Boness regretted that he did not have a strong cavalry to take on this role. This was the second alliance battle in which he realized that this was a task in need of improvement. We had the points advantage because we had already occupied most of the buildings, but the bag score was essential. The fight proved to be long until we finally managed to overcome the 1PT troops and take the 1st package to our base.
Lord Boness breathed a little relief, but the battle was still undecided. We remained ahead on the scoreboard, but the fight for the second package was equally difficult. Formidable warriors among the enemies showed dexterity and cunning in transporting the package. The 1PT showed great resistance, and they were really willing not to give up the fight. After another reasonable amount of time, Lord TBE managed to pick up the package and carry it once again to our base.
From that moment on, the match became calmer. The enemies' resistance fluctuated, perhaps they no longer had the means to heal so many troops. We managed to transport the third package without much difficulty.
And in the rest of the map, we already had almost complete control. Lord Boness headed towards the enemy bases in order to assist his companions. Little by little, we approached 80k points, and completely dominated the map. The North was ours!!!
