Introduction

Hello everyone! As we approach the last week of Open Arena Season 7, many people will be beginning their final push to secure better final ranking rewards. Let us take a look at what has changed since the start of the season, and what teams and skills are doing the best currently.

Skill Restrictions

With the changes in the skill restrictions for the second half of the season, many teams needed to find replacements for the skills that are now banned. Battle Stance and Blade Vortex are always used as the main damage source on Tutankhamun and Khubilai Khan, and are not easily replaced. Vitality Touch is also another staple skill that is always equipped on holy and shadow teams. Toxin Barrier is usually equipped on the 3rd team, and deals good damage, but can be easily replaced.

New Skills

With update 2.7.0. new skills have been added to open arena, which have undoubtedly changed the meta.

Assembly Charge

Assembly Charge is a great skill for immortals that rely on normal attacks to deal damage, such as Hannibal Barca and Alex. By pairing it with other skills that increase attack speed, such as Wind Rage and Berserker, both of them are able to do massive amounts of damage. To top it off, Toxin Barrier, which is the usual counter for immortals with high attack speed, is unavailable for this half of the season, making this skill even stronger.

Abundant Spirit

Abundant Spirit is another powerful addition to the game. It is a stronger version of Concentration, as on top of increasing magic damage by 30%, it also increases the probability of triggering skills by 10%. This is great on mages who focus on dealing critical damage, such as Wu. By pairing it with Spell Disintegrator and Chase, it increases the rate which critical hits activate, increasing the damage Chase is able to deal.

Unforeseen Attack

Unforeseen Attack is another strong damage skill for immortals who deal physical damage. It is able to deal large amounts of damage to enemy backline immortals. However, its damage is not very consistent, and most players equip this skill on their 2nd or 3rd marches.

Top Teams

Now, we will take a look at some of the top teams in open arena currently.

1: Holy, Fire, Lightning

With the removal of Battle Stance and Blade Vortex, using Hippolyta in Holy teams has seen a huge rise in popularity. This set of teams is able to beat most other teams, such as Shadow and Wind. However, the Holy team with Tokugawa struggles against other similar teams using Yi Sun Shin.

2: Shadow, Fire, Lightning

While Shadow teams normally struggle against Holy, adding Genghis Khan into the team closes the gap, allowing it to finally be on par with Holy. March order is more important for these teams than most, as against Wind, only the Fire team can win, and against Shadow or Holy, only the Shadow team stands a chance.

3: Holy, Fire, Earth

This is one of the strongest combinations currently. With the new skill Assembly Charge, Alex is able to do massive amounts of damage while being protected by Yi Sun Shin, Theodora and Fufei. It is able to win against almost all enemy teams, and also has strong 2nd and 3rd teams to support it.

4: Shadow, Wind, Earth

This Wind team is the strongest team currently, able to defeat everyone else with ease. It also makes use of Assembly Charge, allowing Hannibal Barca to deal large amounts of damage. However, this set has weak secondary and tertiary teams, and is reliant on the Wind team to do most of the heavy lifting.
