I trust all of you lord and ladies of Infinity Kingdom, are taking in the rays of Norheim, and doing a spot of spring-cleaning. Not long till KvK match up for those on Conquest servers, so take advantage of the time left to get your castles in order. Ready to repel enemy marauders who wish to lay siege to our castles. One way to strengthen our forces is by upgrading and developing our Artefacts. To do this, we need the schematic fragments, or the schematics for the Water, Wind, Earth, Fire and Lightning. On that note, time to peruse today's topic... Let's dive right in

Introduction

In the bustling world of Norheim, trade caravans traverse treacherous lands, transporting valuable goods to markets. However, lurking in the shadows are cunning Gnome Units, waiting for their chance to strike and pilfer these precious commodities. As a player, your mission is to protect these caravans, ensuring their safe passage while reaping enormous rewards. Welcome to the Merchantile Path event!

Event Overview

The Merchantile Path is a unique event introduced in the Infinity Kingdom 2.2 patch. It has recently been revamped in the latest update 2.6.8 an overhaul in the rewards you get for sending your donkeys Caravans on a ride to slay those pesky gnomes. Unlike any other event in Norheim's history, it combines strategy, teamwork, and resource management. Let's delve into how it operates and the advantages it offers.

How It Works

1.  Caravan Formation:

· You can either start your caravan or join an existing one.

· Caravans come in three sizes: small, medium, and giant. The larger the caravan, the more supplies it can transport, but also the more challenging the journey.

· The optimum Caravan is the giant one, you'll gain better prizes, but troop death will be higher. Choosing the right march will be key to reducing troop loss.

1.  Alliance Cooperation:

· Once a caravan is set up, you can send your troops or invite alliance members to join the journey.

· Think of it as rallying with your alliance teammates to defend the caravan as it travels to a Norheim City Market.

1.  Gnome Ambushes:

· Cunning gnomes continuously attack the caravan, attempting to steal its supplies.

· Your primary task is to eliminate these gnomes upon their approach.

· Protect the caravan goods at all costs!

· There is a rest stop... Time to replenish your lost resources and troops to face the next round of Gnome attacks ....Charge!!!

1.  Rewards:

· The rewards vary based on the caravan size and the resources successfully protected.

· After a successful caravan escort, the organizer receives exploration rewards (based on remaining supplies) and assisted explorer rewards (based on alliance members' damage to gnomes).

· The rewards include materials for crafting artefacts, gems, and philosopher's stones.

Variation in Rewards: The quantity of chests selected directly influences the quality and quantity of rewards available. Players who choose to escort more chests have the opportunity to earn greater rewards, including valuable resources, items, and other in-game bonuses.

Advantages of the Merchantile Path

1.  Artifact Materials:

· Completing caravans yields materials essential for crafting artefacts.

· These materials enhance your immortals' power and provide strategic advantages in battles.

1.  Gems and Philosophers Stones:

· Gems and purple philosopher's stones are crucial for boosting combat strength.

· Prioritize these rewards, as they significantly impact your overall performance.

Player Strategies for Success

1.  Caravan Size Selection:

· Choose the caravan size wisely. Smaller caravans are easier to protect, but their rewards are modest.

· Larger caravans offer substantial rewards but require a stronger defensive march.

1.  Alliance Coordination:

· Communicate with alliance members to maximize participation.

· Coordinate rally times and ensure everyone contributes to defending the caravan.

· A caravan holds up to 10 marches, to maximise rewards, coordinate with alliance members

· Ask the highest power marches to Tank the Caravan by going first: help all members to be able to join in and reap the top rewards.

1.  Troop Management:

· Save your troops by avoiding unnecessary battles outside the event.

· Optimize troop numbers for both offence and defence during the caravan journey.

1.  Avoiding High Death Rates:

· Use strong immortals with healing abilities to minimize troop losses. Examples would be Cleopatra, Zenobia or Genghis Khan

· Strategically position your troops to counter gnome attacks effectively.

Best Elemental March

· Earth Element March:

o Pros: High survivability, healing capabilities, and solid damage output.

o Cons: Slower movement speed compared to other elements.

Earth March for the Merchantile Path

The Earth March stands out as an excellent choice for the Merchantile Path event due to several key advantages:

1.  Survivability:

· Earth immortals have high base health and resilience, making them durable during prolonged battles.

· Their survivability ensures that they can withstand gnome attacks and protect the caravan effectively.

1.  Healing Abilities:

· Earth immortals often possess healing abilities, allowing them to sustain themselves and their allies.

· Healing skills help maintain troop numbers and reduce losses during the event.

1.  Solid Damage Output:

· Earth immortals deal respectable damage, especially when paired with the right talents and equipment.

· Their consistent damage output contributes to defeating gnomes swiftly.

1.  Elemental Synergy:

· Earth synergizes well with Wind (Earth-Wind hybrid) or Fire (Earth-Fire hybrid) immortals.

· These hybrid marches combine the strengths of both elements, enhancing overall performance.

Other Potential Marches

1.  Earth-Wind Hybrid:

· Combining Earth and Wind immortals provides a balanced approach.

· Wind immortals offer increased movement speed, which helps catch up with gnomes.

· This hybrid march excels in both offence and defence.

1.  Earth-Fire Hybrid:

· Earth-Fire hybrids focus on damage output.

· Fire immortals deal significant AoE damage, complementing Earth's survivability.

· Use this march if you prioritize eliminating gnomes quickly.

· Killing gnomes quickly saves troops and lowers the death toll

1.  Pure Wind March:

· Wind immortals are swift, allowing them to intercept gnomes efficiently.

· Their speed compensates for Earth's slower movement.

· Ideal for players who want to maximize gnome kills.

. But Wind Marches are very epensive to build, look at your options carefully.

Over the course of the 3 day Event, there is the chance to earn a minimum of 30 Elemental Artifact Schematics, therefore this is an event well worth partaking of. Dust off those troops, join a caravan and slay those Pesky Gnomes. Do not forget to save your RSS, just in case those gnomes get the better of your troops, and you need to put your training ground into Action.
